I was very disappointed by the first half and had some serious doubts but no more. Our players are very well conditioned and they are now executing very well. That cut by Grant and keeping on his feet or the TD was unreal.
2nd Half Rutgers is playing much, much better. Coaches are doing good.

Howard D also wore down. 1st half is what you should concentrate on.

They have to stop coming out flat. This is two games in a row they looked completely lost in the first quarter.
Little things to note, Rutgers is not making many penalties. No more 12 men on the field, no more false starts. The players are very well conditioned. It is hard to believe that no one was cramping up in this brutally hot weather. Laviano has learned to slide properly. There are some good new players on the team waiting for their chance. The cover team does the Ohio State arm swing so we now look like Ohio State which is good for something I guess.

I predicted that the first half would be close. Didn't predict we'd tie or play quite as badly as we did though. The team is clearly still early in it's learning curve on both O and D.
Because it was Howard, it's hard to know what to take away from this game. But next week will be more telling. I expect it to be rough at the start but improve as the game goes along.
I agree. But I also think we're likely to see that for another handful of games. I think the team is at that point in their learning curve (staff and players alike) where there will be visible improvement during each game.
