3-star California QB Re-al Mitchell To Iowa State

As I said the day Ash was hired, it was a mistake to take hire a coach with absolutely no NJ recruiting history or personal connections. Teams like ours will get very few (we did get Odin, FWIW) top players outside of our area until we get a better team and the only way to do that is to recruit quality kids with an affinity for the school - ie, kids from our area who would go to RU for reasons other than thinking we will be a top team very soon.

How do you respond to the fact that Ash's first recruitng class was better than any Flood recruiting class and Rutgers 4th or 5th best class since 2000? What role does coaching those lesser players Flood recruited for achieving last season's results? What does it say that he achieved that class with a 2-10 record?

Just curious. Would love to discuss.

We've known for a long time that there's a handful of people with multiple ID's who post regularly in that cesspool, sometimes replying to themselves to simulate an actual discussion. I used to spend time over there, pointing people who were actual RU fans over here and to Scout, but after a while it become so inundated with trolls it wasn't worth wasting the time.
I stopped posting over there about 18 months ago. There is no way to have a discussion on any RU topic without the trolls taking over. It seems a lot of other NJ.com posters who were RU fans have left the site as well. It is now troll heaven.

Some survey I saw rated it highly as a college town. He is interested in kinesiology, and not sure where RU is versus Iowa State.
RU is in New Jersey: Iowa State is in, um, the State of Iowa. About 1100 miles away. Glad I could help.

Any time I've ever interacted with Iowa people, I've come away feeling like they're hiding some shit that's going on out there. Not sure what, but... they're hiding something.

Signing Day is 9 months away? This is a big nothing burger.

Well, that plus the fact that we don't need to encourage Ash to make up for the immediate lack of quarterback depth by signing 18 of them.

I wonder if the staff know something already as they have now started pursuing the QB from Fordham Prep

As have many of us here I spent time over there and eventually got tired of the trolls and left but the thing that put the nail in the coffin for me was my last post there. I simply asked the mods if they could install an ignore feature like they have here. They took down my post. So, I left.

Ames is like a lot of college towns, everything in the town is about the college. It's just a small community of 60,000 but is completely involved with ISU. It's got the slowed down Midwest friendly pace that is hard to find anymore.

As Vinny's girlfriend said in My Cousin Vinny--I bet they have terrible Chinese food.

Am I missing something? What's wrong with those pictures?

Lived in Iowa 3+ years. Pretty much same things as in NJ (except the major cities are a few hours away). I tell people if you can live on the Route 9 corridor (Central Jersey people who don't like NYC/Philly or the beach) you can live in Iowa. The weather was the biggest negative for me, long cold winters and very hot, humid summers.
Iowa City is nicer than NB, never been to Ames.

Pretty boring looking.
Looks like Red Bank on a Sunday morning. I know you live at the Shore as well. Pretty boring until this past weekend with the nice weather. Again, NJ has proximity to more but NB isn't some fabulous college town/atmosphere. I'd love for kids to want to come to RU, when I speak to my friends kids they like the "college town" feel more than the spread at RU.

Shift Is the Mcallister kid actually from the district ? I thought the african anericans that used ro live in Fairhaven pretty much left town.

Trolls are out in full force on the NJ.com article. Do sumtruth, ForumTitan and scarletknightpride have anything else to do but bash RU?

They are not fans but rather trolls employed by NJ.con
Stopped clicking on that BS links long ago.

I was turned off a little bit by his size. He looks like he's about 5'11. Theres not a lot of QB''s that can play at that height. Russell Wilson is the exception.

There's only a single person in the shot. How the hell did they manage that one. Does anyone really live there? Are they vampires that only come out at night? Have the children of the corn killed all the grown ups? Is he the last surviving human in Ames, Iowa from the zombie apocalypses ? What gives?
