Tonight was the 3rd time that I can remember that a team that we were playing had scored about 20 points in a row(give or take a couple) and then gave up an easy bucket to us due to lack of defense on their part and their coaches all called time out and went crazy on their teams.
EACH time, including tonight, the coach on the other team(Izzo tonight) called timeout and went absolutely beserk on their team. All were way up on us. Against Northwestern the other night, Chris Collins did the same thing while being up on us by 30 plus points. Same thing, Rick Pitino went crazy at the RAC a few years ago when Louisville had scored about 20 points in a row, gave up an easy hoop and he called time and went nuts on his team.
All 3 of these coaches almost want perfection from their team and a total effort all of the time. Some might go over the line a bit, but it is refreshing to see them demanding effort from their teams from whoever is on the court at the time. Even if we are undermanned, I wish that our team would give the same effort for the whole game, every game.
Best of Luck,
Groz
