4.75 Billion Dollar Rutgers Future Investment Article

Should rename this post becuse that article is juiced with tons of exciting capital projects that will completely transform RU. The last 5 years plus the next 10 will see more visible invenstment than the last 40-50 years at RU combined !

Everyone that has an interest in seeing RU succeed as a University should be reading this article !! It's really exciting!!

I wonder how much of that is actually going to happen. It's also amazing how much all that costs. I guess that is what happens when the campus infrastructure is neglected for so long. In all honesty Rutgers should already look like it does in the 2030 plan. If or when this all comes about, it will be very impressive.

From the article:

"To improve the baseball, softball, and track and field facilities the university requested $227 million, which will eventually result in the relocation of the fields. Another $114 million was requested to expand the RAC to include a parking structure and additional athletic facilities."

Right. The $114 stood out to me too. This is the new practice facility breaking ground any month now, right? Assuming yes, does this mean the state covering the costs, or at least more than the 25 mil tax credit thing?

It is a misleading article. Rutgers is not requesting all that money from the state. Not sure of the exact ins and outs but it has to do with getting approval from the state to raise money for "capital projects".
