When we had one win, I said we would get 7 and we achieved that today. When we had 5, I said I think we could get 8? I now believe we can win out and get to the NIT this year. If that’s really a top 25 team, than we are a lot better than the #68 kenpom ranking.

Today was about winning a road game and by a big margin that we weren’t supposed to win. Senior night, jammed arena and nothing mattered. We have confidence and now we can really start to roll but there can be no let down.

Pack the RAC on Wednesday and let’s sweep those bastards.

Agreed!

Before today's win we were at 104 in the NET rankings. When you consider all of the auto bids, the NIT is still a stretch. Just keep winning and we'll see where we land.

:boom::boom::boom:This one is for the fans! :boom::boom::boom:
They didnt get to see the IOWA game
But they can have fun watching us beat

I think Iowa is a great matchup for us. They are legit but seem to struggle with our length and physical play. SJU is a good example of the opposite; our style doesn’t pose an advantage vs them— their squad is used to that game, so even though they aren’t Top 25 it’s a much tougher opponent for us.

These computer models are pretty flawed. If we win our last two reg season games and one in the B1G tourney, I think we will have a very strong NIT resume.

Yes, 17-15 and 10 B1G wins would get us the NIT no doubt. It’s there fellas. Let’s take it

Imo we’d have to win out and win at least 2 in the B1G tourney and finish 18-15 to get an NIT bid.

Most people thought we would win 12. I thought there was no way that's all we would win, mostly because I knew how good Harper was and how much Johnson would develop. I believe Carmody actually said there was a 10% chance we would win 5-6. I said at the time there was a zero percent chance of that.

7 conference wins (and .389 conference win %) is the best we've seen since 2005-06, when we finished 7-9 with a .438 win %. It's just the 4th time in 20 seasons that we've made it to 7 conference wins, and the other 3 were all under Gary Waters. Great to see us back in the fight in conference play!

I certainly understood the doubters because of the history but history changes. I think we won 13 last year in the regular season but that was also out of 31 games and this year we have 30. We also had a tougher schedule this year with a couple more Big 10 games. Jerry Carino had us with 5 big 10 wins this year.

I don’t think most fans counted on the improvement throughout the season and it gets much better next year with a full year of experience plus the off season and addition of 2 other good players plus one unknown who I also think will be good. Ron Harper was seriously underrated and Caleb turned out to be a huge surprise. I had no idea that Myles was this good and I think Shaq Carter will improve even more next year.

Just dreaming, but not out of the realm of possibilities:

If we beat PSU and Indiana, and then 3 in the BTT, to finish 19-15, does that get us to the NCAA bubble?
If that happens we wouldnt be seriously considered for the tourney however they would talk about us as a team who got hot too late. We’d be like the #10 team left out. Resume wise thered probably be 5-9 more teams more worthy of us who dont get in

Yeah we would be discussed but no one other than a talking head looking to score a hot take would say we would deserve to be in. However, this scenario would most likely get us a home game in the NIT.

In that scenario, it's probably the miracle shot Iowa beat us on that keeps us out.

Bowl, I predicted at the beginning of the season we would get 6 wins, so now that we have 7, I am over the moon. But like you, I want more. I want to sweep PSU and then go into Indiana and shock the you know what out of them in Bloomington.

Anyone who said there was the possibility of winning only 5-6 games really doesn't know that much about basketball talent or recognize Pike's ability to coach.

No one can make an NIT prediction until you know how many automatic spots are taken by conference regular season champs who do not win the conference tourney.

Last year there were 12.

This is a crazy year ...and if we get to 19-15...we likely will have 5 quad wins and 8 quad two wins and a net ranking in the 50s...and 12-13 in games against the power confrence

Probably just short ...but possible

I will take any post season action (NCAA,NIT,CBI) at this point.
The kids on this team deserve it with what they've done in turning this program around and making RU basketball relevant again.
