I know most won’t agree, and won’t happen, BUT..here me out.

Yeah, that was my point, Iverson was almost complete opposite of Dylan in body and pace of play.

I thought he may have an issue in college w his release. He hasn't really, but is shooting what, less than 33% from outside? Still needs to work on that part of his game. I see Dylan much like Harden. Harden, I don't think, has ever had a year where he shot that low from 3.

I think MOST people don’t think Ace nor Dylan pass the NBA eye test right now. I’ve seen numerous players NOW that are better. Don’t get me wrong, they have flashed and are great talents…

Flagg is clearly the best (especially watching tonight) and has an NBA BODY and game. He can start on any NBA team. Ace is too young, thin, and inconsistent. Dylan is loosing stock and is not the same player from the beginning of the season because of sickness and injury. That said..

They BOTH should say “run it back”, and gain valuable experience and be clearly 1 and 1A, NEXT SEASON, earning soo much more money. Players better than them have stayed at least 2 years and gone on to greatness.

Spare me the “might get hurt” theory, MANY players played a lot more in college BITD with no to little injury.

SHOW THE WORLD THIS YEAR WAS A FLUKE. With BETTER RECRUITS coming, we could be great next year… and deep.

Prove it… Run it back, guys.

Significantly better is pretty on point. On fairly similar usage Flagg is close to 12 points per 100 possessions better than Bailey. Flagg is one of the best passers in college basketball irrespective of position, gets to and converts at the free throw line at a tremendous rate and one of the sport’s premier defenders.

Ace Bailey does none of that, even if the shooting splits are comparable

Flagg is the better player, however when you guys say ace doesn't play defense you are selling him short. Especially the last couple games. I'd like to see him play within more structure defensively and offensively. He gets into trouble when he tries to do too much on both ends. Flagg looks comfortable now, ace will start rushing his shot trying to get it off before a double team. Flagg is also a play maker for Duke and handles the ball more securely in the lane than Ace. But it's all confidence, things can change by end of season, it's not as wide a gap as you may think.

It’s ok I can take it…. I’ve also had a bunch of spot on calls it balances out

The bigger problem with this one is that in reality, even if Dylan and Ace did decide to return to college (and no it’s not going to happen) it would make zero sense for them to return to Rutgers after how badly this season went. Like honestly - if hypothetically a rule was instated requiring 2 years of college prior to entry into the draft instead of one, they would almost certainly go elsewhere. So yeah - this one feels like a pretty bad take.

You are ignoring 50% of the game and perhaps 85% of it. The 10-15% of the action where you have the ball or are directly defending the ball is very important, but what occurs in the other 85-90% usually determines who wins and loses basketball games.
Like I said, Ace is really really good.

Damn this thread has people making player comps to guys who played in the NBA decades before these two were born… the game has changed fellas. And Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper are pro’s

I am down on Ace as a college player……not as a NBA olayer. He should be in the NBA RIGHT NOW.
Very early this year I think you (and others) corrected me when I suggested Ace could use more time in college.. compared to Harper. You guys CORRECTLY suggested that Ace would be drafted on potential alone... that he would have been drafted (and perhaps very early) if he skipped college.

You still see the frosh in Ace. You all know when it happens.. it is obvious.. mode much more obvious because it stands out so much compared to his NBA STAR plays.. which are much more abundant.

Ace and Dylan are clearly the real deal. OP is insane on that point. But the talent of the rest of our team.. its there.. and when they execute Pike's D like they did in the first half.. you can see the potential. If they stick together they can be a real nice team going forward if we get some complimentary players who can play D like Pike needs AND hit shots.

That’s why it’s criminal that grant and even Dortch haven’t played until recent. They should have got time during OOC.
They are NOT looking to score first(ala Dercack/Jwill) rather they are your hard hat guys
Who have length and can rebound. Those are the areas that have killed us and can be extremely complimentary to Ace/Harp.

Last night we saw more maturity out of JMike, yet he is still a bit of a disaster. Also Acuff finally emerged for what we need him for—8-10yrs per game and a few assists.

Sort of… more of a “what if”. You did read the part that I said it won’t happen right?

Not to beat you up more then you already have been but you started your post by saying this gem:

“MOST people don’t think Ace nor Dylan pass the NBA eye test right now.”

Seeing that ALL draft boards have them in the top 5 (and MOST in the top 3) it seems the ONLY person who thinks that is you.

“Ace is too young, thin, and inconsistent.”
See unchanged draft boards

“Dylan is loosing stock” what evidence of that? see unchanged draft boards

And then you doubled-down with this: “They BOTH should say “run it back”, and gain valuable experience and be clearly 1 and 1A”

Better chance of hitting the lottery! These two are gone and will make millions in the NBA

Of course not. I’m just pointing out that until it’s impossible to make the tournament, that should be the goal and presumed best possible outcome however much a long shot.
Correct. And IF we have a healthy team, these 5 freshman will have had a whole regular season of playing and developing at the highest level of college hoops. This team, IF HEALTHY, can be tough to beat in a single elimination BIG Tournament. We will see.
