I thought a a 6-6 Rutgers playing an 8-4 Notre Dame team was bad.

I know theres too many bowl games and not enough slots to fill them but the team records should be at least close!

the funny thing will be to get BEAT by a 5-7 team...might happen...

people say pac 12 scores so many points because of the great offenses in that conference. they also score a lot because the defense sucks in that conference. washington had the best defense in the conference. they gave 31 points to southern miss in the bowl game.

Huskers and Mike Riley finally caught a break after losing so many ridiculous close games at the end., I really enjoyed watching the hot dogs on UCLA go down.

This is exactly why you should hate bowl season. A 5-7 team should never be allowed to play an 8-4 team. Nebraska never had a chance. It's all for television dollars I tell you. And Tulsa playing a P5 team in VTech? Absurd. They don't even belong on the same field. I'm sure that game was over by the end of the first quarter.

Yup. The Big 12 is the same way. Outside of oklahoma there isnt a complete team in that conference. The B1g and SEC are easily the most well rounded conferences in cfb

I would rather have an extra game creating random match ups between teams - games that you don't ever see - after the season than create "bowl games" for this. Why? Because we wouldn't have to hear coaches defended as taking teams to a bowl game every year.

People say the bowls are meaningless and also use them to make a program sound better than it is. Even though they know some bowls are clearly more important than others, saying you went to a bowl each year sounds good - even when it shouldn't. A 5-7 team shouldn't go bowling. IMO a 6-6 shouldn't either.

Just have a meaningless 13th game (or reduce the regular season schedule to 11 games) and have the random game before the NYE bowls. This would allow everyone to get the extra weeks of practice, give ESPN programming, and bring back the idea of bowls as "rewards" for a good season. Rewards for a winning season.

That's why TT beat Arkansas, Okla beat Tenn both on the road, WVU beat Maryland and TCU beat Minn. Memph beat Miss, The Citadel beat South Car, Utah beat Mich, Temple beat PSU, Miami beat Nebraska. Can't paint with a broad brush. Until there is a day when all teams have to play one another it's hard to judge conference play unless a particular conference dominates non- conf opponents. That's why most of the time stats mean nothing in CF until December(same as polls). Not like the NFL where stats prove to be pretty accurate and consistant. That's why you are what your record says you are.(BP). Not so much in College Football. t's all about match-ups. There have been so many points scored in these bowl games so far the offenses have shown to be much better than the defenses. Rules are structured for high scoring now. For the most part the games have been close too. It's all about execution and usually the team with the least amount of mistakes wins. Not a conference thing, fans just love to think that.

Nebraska showed exactly why a 5-7 team is perfectly fine. And why playoff should really be eight teams.

why it won't happen in one word......MONEY...

The Big Ten conference in the strongest conference. Most of the BIg bowls are Big Ten against the best of the SEC. The top 3 PAC 12 teams are playing the middle of the Big Ten. ACC is playing mostly AAC and Big 12. Wisc, Ohio State, NW, Iowa, Mich, and Michigan State are in the top 15 defense in the nation.

Ohio State is really the best team in Cfl as Brian Kelly agree with. They would beat Alabama. I don't know if Michigan State can score enough to beat them.

Except for Stanford, the PAC 12 was weak this year. Look no further than the Huskers win over an 8-4 team..
