Doug Flutie ended his playing career with a successful drop kick of an extra point for the New England Patriots against the Miami Dolphins on January 1, 2006 which was the first in the NFL since Ray McLean of the Chicago Bears drop kicked an extra point against the New York Giants in the December 21, 1941 NFL Championship Game.
