When IU had their great 3rd quarter I let loose a few choice words and thought CRAP,it looks like we left our game in the locker room.(we had gone in with a lead).Bless 4th Quarters! Honest up guys. How many of you thought the same thing?

I was in AC at the time wearing my Rutgers football shirt and thinking - oh no! But felt a lot better when the game ended - sitting in a restaurant near a dejected Michigan fan......

Honestly, I told the guys I was with that the game was over just prior to Indiana's last td. It looked to me like RU's defense was done. I didn't see any way we were gonna stop them. And then they broke that long run for what turned out to be their final score. Yeah....I was right. The rout was on.
The rest of the game provided me with so much enjoyment. Good times.

I thought we were done but figured I'd watch one more possession (bomb to caroo). Started feeling it when we got the stop even before the botched punt. After that I was definitely thinking we had a chance. Games like that are what make college football so exciting imo.

i was at son's hockey game and DVR'd it. While watching when we got down I started FF it with 4 arrows. My wife said you might want to slow down....obviously i knew at worst we made it close.

Suddenly I got nervous realizing I only DVR'd +1 hour and we were at the 3:50 starting the last drive. I would have been sauce if there was a OT.

My experience, almost exactly.

Don't feel bad, we were all on the same boat! Thankfully, the team didn't give up!

I would be shocked if anyone thought we had any chance to make a comeback when we were down 25 points.

Only when we win....those kind of losses could kill a young guys confidence after blowing an usually insurmountable lead...thank god we were on the CHOPPING SIDE.

I think we all thought the same thing. The defense straight up gave up until the failed punt happened.

I think the defense was the same. The Indiana QB decided to brain fart 2x in a row at the worst possible time.

I was driving to Citi Field for the Mets game and was cursing up and down, listening to the radio broadcast. Finally found a parking spot as Federico ended the game. That 4th quarter helped to make the Grand Central Parkway traffic a bit more bearable.

I had to leave the room and do laundry to calm down after that Indiana run up the sideline.

It was our anniversary, so had dinner reservations with my wife for 7:00 pm. I left right after the Carroo TD at the end of the 3rd quarter. I was dejected and also afraid they might give up 70+ points. Sitting in the restaurant about 40 minutes later and my wife gets a text from a friend of ours, she says "Oh my God" with a smile on her face. Then tells me RU tied the score. I said "what?". Then assuming the game was going into overtime, I got upset that they missed the earlier extra point. About 10 minutes later, she gets an update and tells me RU won. It was very hard to believe.

After the first two IU touchdowns, I figured we could come back from that.

Even after the third touchdown off the interception, I figured it was bad luck and we were only down 18 with a quarter and a half to play. We had already scored 27 against IU, so scoring 18 wasn't impossible.

But after the 4th touchdown, I figured even if we managed to score 25 points in the next 20 minutes, there was absolutely no way that our porous defense was going to hold IU scoreless.

I was happy with our TD in the 3rd quarter, but thought it was too little too late. But with the punt fumble for a touchdown 10 seconds into the 4th quarter, followed immediately by us intercepting IU, I regained hope that we could really win. We had almost a full quarter in which we only had to outscore Indiana by 13 points in a high-scoring game.

It was an unlikely comeback, but after Carroo's 3Q TD, we forced 3 turnovers in a row from IU (the punt fumble when our defense held IU to a 3-and-out, and two interceptions) that resulted in Rutgers tying the game. And then our defense forced another 3-and-out from IU. So while I doubted our defense, they certainly stepped up in a big way.

Same here, I started hitting the FF x 3 and then FF x 4 just waiting to see how high the score would go, very frustrated. Once we got within a few scores I stopped w/ the FF. I missed so much of the game I went back and rewatched the 4th quarter yesterday.

Your wife has cooler Rutgers fan friends than you do? Is she an alum?
My wife is pretty cool about game day, and if we are out to eat and there is a Rutgers game on, she does not care if I check scores/refresh. But then again, we usually go to places that have TVs that have the Rutgers game on.

My wife was a little upset that I kept checking the score on my phone in the 4th qtr while we were out at dinner.....

I don't text. She isn't an alum but has become a good fan. It was a friend of ours, where our youngest son was hanging out for the evening.

I was on a jet blue flight from Hartford, CT to West Palm Beach, saw all of the 1st quarter and part of the second when I had to board. Plane had ESPN, ESPN 2 and Alabama game on but no BTN. Other networks almost never posted our score. Posted when 52-27 so I figured with 17 minutes to go the game was toast. As we were landing they put on the FG to win, needless to say I scared a few fellow passengers! ( and my wife!)

I was at work (night/ weekend job) and was checking in in the board/ game inbetween sessions. My phone ended up dying, which was probably for the best as it was about to accidentally run into a wall at full speed. The last thing I posted was, "I'm about 1 minute from emotionally checking out on this season ."
My kids were sick over the weekend so I called home to check on them; my wife told me "Rutgers tied the game." I actually stopped for 3-4 seconds and asked her if she was sure she was looking at the right week/game. She then reconfirmed and told me, "they have the ball, 3rd down at the Indiana 10 with 10 seconds left." She then stayed on the line and goes, "55-52 it's over" almost as if she were reading from a grocery list...I'm still can't believe it actually happened.

I turned the channel just prior to the Carroo td. I admit it. Sometimes it hurts too much to watch.

Turned back to our game as we were driving for the game winning FG.

What an awesome surprise!

Obviously I did. I even took to the boards and called for Martin to be the feature back (stop the rotation); give Rettig a chance (Laviano did NOTHING for most of the third Qtr. - and there was the INT.); Fire Flood (think we need to re-consider this request regardless of the results), fire Julie (see Flood), bench Federico (ok so nobodies perfect...he'll pulled out his best Ito impression/ nailed it).

Regardless the 3rd quarter was HELL and the 4th qrt. was HEAVEN.

I had been out with the family for a wonderful fall excursion and was recording the game. I got home it was near the end and quickly shut down the BTN so as not to know the result. I was so mad when watching the recorded game when we went behind 52 - 27 I said to my wife shut it off (for personal health and sanity reasons LOL). As I did so the game had been long over so I said I will look up on my Ipad the final atrocity when I saw the headline on this web site. I was one happy camper to turn the game back on and I avoided a stroke.

after we got within 2 tds I immediately thought of the Maryland game and thought we could get it done.... there was a lot of time left, it became a game again right there.

Toward the end of the 3rd quarter, my father in law told me the game was done. I told him last year we reeled off 28 unanswered points to end the game at Maryland, and there was still plenty of game left.

I also said Indiana was changing their rhythm to kill clock, and that might mess with their offense.

Happy to be right, but not happy seeing Carroo and Austin leave the game.

I thought we wouldn't make it. 3rd quarter I was resigned to watch another blowout and make some negative comments about the team on the game thread. 4th quarter until KFed hit the wining FG, I thought we'd come close but screw it up some how with an int or fumble or something stupid. Glad I was wrong.

nice way to check in on a game we gave up on....it almost ruined my Saturday but instead gave me joy...unreal how now and again the fates work for us and make checking scores more pleasant. ''Cuse's'' loss doubled my pleasure.

Nice observation from an old fan.....you notice the subtleties young fans don't appreciate..acute eye.

Thank you. We had a nice night I'm glad RU won and it was a good sports weekend for me. I'm a big Jet and Met fan as well.
I like everything until Jets and Mets....you must be under 40....lol....the RU win to me is most important to my mental health though.

When Indiana went up 25, I think I wrote on one of the discussion threads "Only reason I'm still watching is to see if Rettig gets a shot. What a disaster." Oops! But I did keep watching and got to enjoy an amazing come back. What a gutsy performance.

Turned out to be quite a disaster, but for Indiana!

Being Honest.

I got up from my seat at the stadium and walked out, but didn't leave.
Instead I stood on the ramp way watching the game on the big screen at the stadium.
As we started mounting our comeback I refused to move from the spot.

By the time we got to within six a had to pee so badly, that I had to meditate a little during a break.
We won I ran to the bathroom, then celebrated with our group.

Overall..... one of the best away games I have ever been to.

LOL, me too with the cuse loss...someone (younger person- early 20's) asked me yesterday why I can't stand cuse and I explained about our down years with cuse fans taking glee in kicking us/ reveling in it...to this day I'm just not a big fan ofcthe color orange because of them.
