I know it's frowned upon, but let's look at things calmly.
1. We're young, and basically a new team. We will get better as a unit. I'd love to see us match up with Alabama in a month or two after we figure out the rotation and our defensive assignments.
2. Acuff is still not in shape. His foot is clearly not 100% To say he's the worst anything is ridiculous.
3. Our newcomers have played 7 games here. Let's wait until we have a larger sample size before we call guys like Martini and Hayes busts. They will have their nights.
4. Even with all that, we just hung with one of the best teams in the country on a night where they shot 40% from 3 and we definitely did not. We'll be fine.

I didn't like the lack of defensive intensity over the first 5 games, but things are getting better there. This is not a finished product. Some of your posts may look foolish in February.

I said on the premium board in the last few weeks but these boards specialize in emotional based negative forward looking absolute posts… same camp predicted we wouldn’t win another football game this year and now moved to goal posts because they were wrong to complaining we may get relegated to a “crappy bowl”. Many also predicted an 0-4 week in basketball with a Bama blowout after the loss on Sunday. With that said I don’t think it’s unique to our boards or our fanbase.

I went through alabamas message board and many were calling us a tournament team and that we’ll finish top 25 by years end.

This is when a loss is a win. Not that ridiculous Kennesaw game. We learned that the game needs to run through Harper in this tournament. If we stick to this we’ll be fine.

I don’t know who is not happy, that was maybe the only Rutgers loss ever in hoops that I was happy with. But, this team does have deficiencies that people are pointing out and one glaring one that just might not be fixable, that is getting killed in the rebounding battle. Last night was a sign of light at the end of the tunnel and we are starting to see more of this team’s potential, but will they ultimately get to the end of that light they see in the tunnel or does rebounding leave them unable to leave the tunnel and hold them back? It’s a legitimate question right now.
