As per T. Hunt's article, sources close to Ahmir Mitchell told him that Rutgers will likely land the Michigan stud WR transfer. He'll sit out this year but can play next year and two additional years.

The kid is a Calvin Johnson-type stud.

surprising as he had an offer from
Wisconsin they only offer if you are a good student so what stupid move did he do to get kicked off the team?
as for the Calvin comparison we will see
his HS videos was just a man playing with boys lets see how he does with the men
A Good get for Ash and company anyway

This move will hurt our recruiting NJ players since they know that Rutgers will pick them up if things don't work out. It also hurts players since they have a back-up plan and not stick it out.

If anything it just solidifies the fact that sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side...if he 's wanted by the staff and understands the culture then by all means take the chance.

Wisky has offered a number of out of state kids who end up not being accepted by the school haven't they? Isn't that rumored to be one of the reasons why the last 2 coaches left?

I hope we find out soon why he was suspended.

I'm glad we're apparently going to add a talented player but I'd really like to know what the potential downside of this move is.

No, no .... if it actually all comes together - & if Ash concludes that he is worthy from a talent & character standpoint - it will be a teachable moment - for all talented recruits ...
when the creepy guy in the khaki pants and no shirt pulls up in his sketchy van and says 'hop in - there lots of candy and fun stuff back at my big house.. you'll be my favorite' ... think twice - think three times
- consider the opportunities that exist right before you
- listen to some of your friends who are saying 'join us & we - you & us - will build a powerhouse, create lifelong memories right in front of our friends & families and put our names in the record book'.

They have some different requirements, that would not be an issue for in-state recruits.

Are you the guy on the front or the back?

Like Donald Trump, Ash uses an "Extreme Vetting Process".

This 2014 piece from FoxSports in 2014 explains why some kids have a little difficulty meeting Wisconsin's requirements:

At Wisconsin, 13 high school credits must be considered "core college preparatory" classes (four years of English, three years of math, three years of natural science and three years of social science). However, unlike other institutions, Wisconsin also requires an additional four electives, which can include foreign language, fine arts, computer science or other academic areas. That last addition very well could be the difference between landing some talented prospects with marginal coursework.

Nebraska requires 14 of those so-called "core" units, adding a fourth year of math. But the school only asks for two other units coming from a foreign language for a total of 16 academic course units. Ohio State's minimum course unit requirement also is 16, while Michigan State's is only 14.

At Wisconsin? That number is, at minimum, 17
While somewhat more difficult than other B1G schools, it doesn't seem to make that much difference. I took a look at the information that Wisconsin had on the web, and two of the additional four "electives" must be in a foreign language.

So its a little more difficult, but it doesn't sound crazy. Just have to make sure you take four electives that Wisconsin considers to be "academic".

What happened to him at Michigan. Did he get into trouble?

Can someone explain to us who don't follow the ins and outs.

Like asking about a certain somebody's transcripts..."why do you need to know?"

Seems to be not too important for some reason.

No One knows. That won't stop people from trying to guess but Michigan nor anyone else ever stated why. He is currently trying to get a hardship waiver and commit to a local school aka Rutgers or Temple. So take that for what it is worth.
