Akron just passed me on the Turnpike.

About 10 after 4.

3 Academy busses with an unmarked Trooper in the front and one also unmarked in the back.

Gav’em the Chop as they passed. 😎
If it was USC I would cut them off and break check them until they ran off the road but I'm sure Rutgers doesn't need any help with Akron 😁

Troopers may want to have a "chat" with you....
...because every one of those buses has cameras covering 360 degrees.

DON'T

This triggers a far back memory. The 1980 RU vs Bama game at now Met Life. I had graduated in the prior spring and caught up with my old frat bros. who rented a bus with a keg of beer of course for the cruise up to the Meadowlands. It was a rainy morning and I remember seeing a complete invasion of cars with Alabama plates driving up the NJ Turnpike. Of course my early day drunken bros were doing their uncivil best to let the ‘Bama zealots know that they would be in for a tough day. Came real close to happening.

Rutgers convoy just passed me on 287 North at Exit 13…. 4 buses and 6 State Trooper cars . Staying in Bridgewater??

In 2003 I was doing a railroad relocation project in Marysville, Kansas. It sits between Lincoln and Manhattan. KSU was bussing up to Lincoln for their game against NU. The Kansas DOT employees had all headed to Topeka on Friday morning so there really wasn’t any state officials monitoring the jobs. It was that way every Friday. About 11:00am I was told that the KSU team would be going through. We had 3 spots in 2 miles where we were flagging traffic for equipment to cross the highway. By Kansas law I could stop traffic for a maximum of 15min per flagging area. I informed the flag people via radio if I needed more than the typical 2-3min stop. I watched the busses come up to the first one and told the flag gets to hold all traffic. I made them wait for 13min and let them go to the second one where I did the same thing. When they got to the 3rd one Snyder got off the bus and started screaming at the flag girls who just said we have to hold you for safety reasons. I waited for him to get back to the bus and let them go.
I got back to the office about an hour later and there were 2 state patrolmen waiting for me and said while I was within my legal right to do what I did it better not happen when the team returns late Saturday evening. That evening there was a state patrol car at each crossing. We weren’t working so there weren’t any flaggers but I sure had fun doing it all.
