Story says Rutgers 2030. I did not read it that closely. Does that mean it will be built in 2030? That's a long way away.

2030 is the goal by when hopefully all these facilities will be in place. The basketball and football facilities are priority #1.

Significantly, the report says the new facility will also host wrestling, volleyball and gymnastics - providing those sports with state of the art locker rooms and training facilities and getting them out of the recreation controlled facilities where they are currently based.

I'm underwhelmed. Purely from the perspective of facilities competitiveness, these plans represent an effort to catch up, not an effort to secure the lead.

Also, new practice facilities are great but there appears to be no plan to do anything about our A-10 basketball arena.

I think there is actually plans to add a new lobby area with an athletics shop at the RAC and plans to expand the concourse among other updates.

Remember the date set ( in my opinion) is when RU will have the funds to build those facilities.
Could be built before 2030, if enough donations are obtained to build them.

Instead of looking for the negative ( taking 15 years) look at the positive side for a change: Could take far less than that,
if RU gets a couple of heavy hitters donating and enough small donations start pouring in , the schedule could move up
into a date that we won't have to plan on using walkers .[winking]
Like RutgersAl said : "The faster the checks are written, the sooner this can be built."

I found a donor to fund it.

I know, a poor photo shop. Looks very nice . Hope you get it done soon.

By the time it's done we'll still be behind as we're catching up to where other schools are NOW, not where they're going to be.

Are they really going to name the baseball field after Fred Grunninger? Ridiculous!

Anybody notice that the Blue Lot gets mostly eliminated?
I don't see this at all? I see a "Major Pedestrian" road/path down the side between it and the soccer complex. Listed as a future practice field...who knows what and when that means..

The problem with long term plans is that by 2030 these will be outdated in the big ten, compared to OSU, Mich, PSU, Nebraska... The problem with short term renovations is money....

Really? The bottom half of the Blue Lot, from the existing practice field to the circle, is marked as "future practice fields". The remaining part gets paved.
I was editing my post when you replied. I see the FPF (#8) designation but not assuming it is anything firmly planned to be worried about anytime soon.

It's 2015. My company has no idea that they will be contributing $11,250 to Rutgers Athletics new facilities over the next 15 years. Gotta love the company match! We could double out donors just if everyone utilizes their employee benefits!

ƒ. High Point Solutions Stadium and Practice

Field Upgrades - the west side of the stadium

is proposed to be renovated for press boxes.

Other enhancements include upgrading existing

restroom facilities and fitting out of an elevator

tower at the east end of the stadium.

Just north of the football stadium, four proposed

practice fields will provide additional future

practice space for football and lacrosse, as

well as other programs. They will be linked

and organized by a central pedestrian corridor

that connects the athletics precinct to Busch

academic core.

How about you start by fixing/repairing/installing the one that is already (the one that supposedly doesn't exist) there?

These look more like short term plans than long tern plans. Anything that doesn't add the end zone upper deck to HPPS 15 years from now isn't be comprehensive. Can't be playing in a 52k stadium in the B1G 15 years from now. This looks more like a patch. I'll be in my 70's then. can't imagine that in constrast to going to the new RAC my first year in 1977. Wow! 53 years later..[poop]:bread:
