I have always been impressed with Patton's talent - however he has never consistently reflected it on the field.

Hopefully this is the year he can put it all together - because with a legitimate HR threat with Patton - it will force defenses to not solely focus in on our running game and/or J. Grant.

We will need more than Patton to have a breakout year but I believe there is talent on this team and with the right coaching several players may surprise. This staff appears to be the right coaching staff. We will see. And just in case someone wants to post "on what am I basing this belief" it is simply that RU was 8 - 5 two years ago and two plays away from 6 - 6 last year with what appears to have been a very sub par coaching staff and a nightmare off field season. This staff has to be able to do better, even with an admittedly more difficult schedule. Maybe I am just being a fan but I am cautiously optimistic.

We could have had Tajae Sharpe, from PWay. Schiano passed on him, major blunder. Sharpe killed it at the combine is killing it at the Tennessee training camp. He will be a force in the NFL. Had we had him, with Leonte, we would have had more wins.

He did have a great career at UMass.
Surprised that the top programs passed on him and he wound up at UMass after seeing his college stats there.

A lot of kids like this, wish RU had gone after Cabinda more than they did.

He was pretty thin in high school so I think mistakenly, teams passed because of too much focus on measurables. He bulked up quite a bit since high school.
I coached him in little league when he was 9 on a 10-12 year old team. They let a couple 9s in each year if they show they can play and it won't be dangerous. Well, Tajae was easily my best player. In fact, his father once asked me why I dared to take his son out of the game. When I told him the kid replacing him hadn't played yet, his response was, "Don't you want to win?" I didn't care about winning nearly as much as he did. At the time I thought he was being ridiculous, and I'm still pretty sure he was, but maybe that's what it takes to be great.
