Did I just see that correct? That is a crime and even worse than the job Carroo got after the 2014 season. Who gives a crap about the team's record.

Somebody from out school needs to stand up and say something. This is bull$hit..

This is what happens when you join a conference with a little pride, a little class. You know, that has some pretty simple standards. You know, like don't be an embarrassment to your program. Kids that get suspended twice in the same season don't get all-B1G recognition. Hopefully some kids will learn the lesson for the 16-17 seasons.

This is patently ridiculous, but you knew that before you posted it. As if the conference has never honored a player suspended for anything.

Some B1G schools were not in favor of Rutgers joining the conference. Its rather obvious Sanders should have been selected to the all Frosh team based on stats .Rutgers dismal league record obviously caused the voters to ignore Sanders performance and his suspension might also contributed against him. There are so many negatives regarding the Rutgers mens basketball program that votes for league awards will probably not include Rutgers players until the team starts winning on a consistent basis.

His exclusion from the all conf team is pretty obviously NOT about his level of play on the court.

I can't honestly say that I disagree. You don't bestow post-season honors on a player who misses 1/6 of the season due to multiple suspensions.

Wonder if Bobby Knight won coach of year while getting suspended during year?

Swanigan(Purdue): 10.4pts/8.2 rb
Bryant (Indy):11.5pts/5.8 rb
Stone (Mary): 12.7 pts/5.4 rb
Murphy (Minn): 11.7pts/8 rb
Happ (wisky): 11.9pts/ 7.8 rb (frosh of the year)

Those are the studs who played about 22-25mins per game beat out Sanders who plays 33.5min and went 16.2/3.3 (18pts/3.7 rb in Big 10 games).

(Actually Swanigan IS a stud)

On the one hand, I loathe when people act like there are anti-Rutgers conspiracies out there. On the other, I do not believe off-the-court anything should affect awards for on-court performance unless you miss a big chunk of the season.

He got snubbed. Plain and simple. If people took his suspension into account, that's their choice, I suppose, and while I applaud those who have standards, there's no way such standards will not be applied unevenly. You just know it.

He belonged on that team.

They are studs who would be stars on Rutgers and Sanders would probably not start for any of those schools including Minny at least before the suspensions which means if he played for any of those other teams he would not have averaged the numbers he did with Rutgers.

This issue would hit my radar if he wasn't suspended for 5 games. If he cared about his team mates then I would care. But he obviously didn't so I don't.

here is the deal....one RU came in last, two media reporters in the midwest and coaches do not respect Rutgers as a program and really based on the schools support they have good reason not to, three he got suspended. Yes in a perfect world he was snubbed but its not a perfect world. I bet if he didnt get suspended he would have been on the time but combine that with the already bias against RU who drags the entire conference rpi down and there you have it.

he would have started at Minny, Northwestern, Penn State, and Illinois..thats it. He would have received pretty good minutes off the bench at Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Nebraska. He would have seen some but not major minutes at Iowa. He would received a few minutes a game at Maryland, Michigan State, Indiana, and Purdue

Don't be stupid.

Big fan of Sanders and his game. I will say though, he got suspended and his stats are a bit elevated seeing 40% of the time he was not playing the starting player. Just the facts.

if you are going to argue that he shouldnt make the team because of suspension, then you have to take diamond stone off this team as well. The stupidity of some of the posters on this board is amazing

Swanigan averaged 10.4 not 18.4.

And you left off the fact that sanders is 2nd in assidts among frosh and led the entire conference in steals

Corey's first game suspension was for playing in a non approved game over the summer which he was supposedly told was sanctioned. Stone was suspended one game for pushing a guy's head into the floor. He should have been suspended for a lot more than one game.

Seems like he got jobbed.

But this is what life is like on a team that performed like one of the worst in B1G history.
Agree. Minny didn't exactly light it up either. I don't buy the inflated stats thing either. Better teams can concentrate on stopping Sanders because they don't fear the other four guys on the court.
