Oh ok. thanks. I'll figure out if Edison is closer than NB and take a cab from there. Wish my car didn't die, ironically enough on my way home from the Rutgers/Ohio State BBall game when it was 3° lol.
Too late for today, but you can take a Rutgers campus bus. It's not a designated RAC shuttle, but there's a regular stop right across the street from the building.
Edison train station is pretty close to the RAC and no traffic. 1.9 miles.
NB train station to RAC is 3.1.
I was going by Google Maps. Edison to the RAC is 41 minute walk/7 minute drive compared to NB to the RAC 57/9.
Not sure where the geography went bad but Edison is definitely the adjacent town. The far northeastern corner of Livingston Campus (i.e. the old Kilmer campus of the US Army, whose location has always been identified as Edison) is technically within the municipal boundary of Edison township, while the bulk of it stretches west over into Piscataway.
Especially if you're going southbound on NJT NEC line, always faster to get off one stop earlier at Edison than continuing down to New Brunswick. If you get a cab right away you'd be standing inside the RAC as soon as you'd be alighting the train at the NB platform.
Looks like the walk from Edison to the RAC is the same as from NB to the stadium. Difference may be the weather to make that walk though.
