Any word on Barnwell's eligibility?

At this point I don't think we need "reliable sources". Summer classes ended almost a week ago. He's dropped off the radar. Conclusions is obvious.

Why announce something like this? To further embarrass the kid? When he isn't out there you know why. Isn't that enough?
Because it's standard procedure. Every programs announces player status whether it be injury, suspension, eligibility etc. The embarrassment comes from failure to make the required grades not from the announcement. Announcement or no announcement everyone will eventually no the deal. Plus by not announcing anything the question will continue to linger and be brought up as opposed to making it know and moving on.

Sorry, it's just not the Rutgers way. As far as, questions from the fan base, we will just have to go on with our lives without actually knowing.
But, I agree with the rest of the statement, "The embarrassment comes from failure to make the required grades"

So if, God forbid, he is academically ineligible, does he lose his scholarship? Are players like this cut from the team? Wondering if that would be the case with Barnwell; especially given that he had Strike One with a DUI in 2013.

I think they would burn his redshirt and he would be out for a year. Heplayed as a frosh, so I assume they could do that anyone know for sure?
