Anyone Else "meh" with NCAA 2016?

excellent games in the first two rounds. So many games decided by ridiculous shots. Yes some of the other games were not competitive but we saw teams winning on such high levels. To me thats exciting. Watching Nova play the past few games was a thing of beauty. This tourney had it all. It never had a locked in favorite. It was a wide open tourney right down to the finals which could have gone either way,

Not trying to argue, BUT...."so many decided by ridiculous shots?" I don't think any more than a lot of other years, to be honest, and in the 2nd round only 3 lower seeds won in 16 games with an 11 v 2 (Gonzaga) being the biggest upset. There was also a 7 over a 2 and a 5 over a 4 (hardly an "upset").

I made the comparison and the poster before me

OMG okay...yes, I know, I just don't know WHY you bothered to throw that into the conversation when this thread had ZERO to do with a "comparison" of the 2 sports. Geeze.

I made the comparison and stand by it. Amazing tourney topped by a classic for the ages. The meh post seems silly in retrospect.

Football bowl games often far more meh! Cant ever top the tourney.

Game already becoming part of American sporting lore.

Dont get the David v Goliath in football which makes basketball so intriguing. Nova, Butler, VCU etc.

Slighty amused P5 schools have to be besides themselves. How big is Nova's gym?

5 game winning shots at the buzzer that I can recall off of the top of my head.
Iowa vs Temple
Northern Iowa vs Texas
Notre Dame vs Stephen F Austin
Wisconsin vs Xavier
Villanova vs UNCheat

5 games decided in the final seconds
St Joes vs Cincy
Providence vs USC
Arkansas Little Rock vs Purdue
Notre Dame vs Wisconsin
Syracuse vs Gonzaga

At least 4 big, late comebacks
Arkansas Little Rock vs Purdue
Texas A&M vs Northern Iowa
Syracuse vs Gonzaga
Syracuse vs Virginia

The only thing this tournament didn't have was a true Cinderella going into the second week (Syracuse, Gonzaga and Wisconsin don't count). First day of the Sweet 16 and the Final 4 were non-competitive, but the rest was very good. I'd put it up again any other tournament start to finish and argue it was one of the best.

I can post facts to the contrary, as well, my friends. Just a difference of opinion I guess:

- only 3 lower seeds win in the 2nd round
- 7 of 12 games over Sweet 16/Elite 8 weekend "snooze-fests" and never in doubt
- BOTH semi-final games BLOWOUTS

...so I'll stick to my guns and, remember, I never said this was a "bad" tournament, let alone one of the worse, just that it was kind of "blah" and, IMHO, despite the GREAT final the entire tournament still kinda "blah" to me. YES, there were a handful of very exciting games, no doubt, but the # of completely uninteresting games was what killed it for me (until last night).

...and, NO, I didn't bet on UNC (not that it would have anything to do with this thread).
