screw the pac 12 network man. Leggets in manasquan has directv so they wont have the game unfortunately. Anyone know any bars down the shore that will have it? Belmar/manasquan area

One problem you may have at the shore towns is it is Labor Day weekend. Good luck finding parking for Leggett's. Main Street in Belmar should be fine- can park in Belmar Plaza. Why not just call places and see if they have the game--Try the Boathouse, Anchor Tavern and 9th Ave Pier, the latter two being owned by Chef's International--this location was listed on Scarlet Knights.com as an official game watch location. Problem is Belmar is a Cablevision location, not Comcast, so you will have to find a bar with Dish Network. I think Eatontown is a Comcast location, so Buffalo Wild Wings or Applebees may have it.

I think maybe thatcher mcgees or franklin steakhouse or nekos in fairfield may have it. I'll be down in Manasquan though
If No luck at Squan Tavern check in Point Pleasant which is 5 minutes away as they are a Comcast town. Comcast carries the PAC12 network on some of its sports packages.

I checked Applebees in Tinton Falls. Great outdoor bar. They seem to have most every sports network. Apparently the PAC12 isn't one of them.

Haha highly unlikely. Have you been in the past few years? They renovated it after Irene. Its really nice inside now but still the same awesome crowd haha
But do they get the PAC12 Network? There are plenty of nice bars in the area. Having the ability to put the game on is the big question.
I work near the Franklin Steakhouse. They always have sports on. I'll try to stop in and ask.
That's what I figured. I only go there once in a while for dinner. Never concerned myself with the TV's.
River Rock in Brick would be my guess for having the best chance. Moores and the Cabin in Freehold too perhaps
When I stayed next door for 7 weeks after Sandy, they had Cablevision at the hotel or at least News12. I remember watching News12 report on a fire in Manasquan from my driveway lol.
I will be in Squan as well.
I can probably get a few people interested for a spot...maybe Manasquan Beach House or Reef and Barrel, if not River Rock...as every place else will be a madhouse. Maybe Boathouse in Belmar as well.
I was told with sports bars the issue is they need Direct TV for the NFL package. I don't know enough about this stuff to comment on that.

Not Manasquan/Belmar, but I wrote to Tommy's Tap and Tavern in Sea Bright, and they said that they WILL have the PAC-12.
They have a large bar in the front with a lot of TVs.
And a smaller back bar:
The back bar is adjacent an outdoor dining area that overlooks the Shrewsbury River. This may be a good option. Anyone want to see if we can try to reserve the back room for a group?

You need to go to these places and have them put on the PAC12 Network. I have called a bunch of places. They say yes, when you go there, it's all Direct TV. No PAC12. So annoying.
I grew up in North Caldwell and went to West Essex. Got packaged goods from Nekos back in the 80's. Is that place really still there?

I was there this past saturday night.... great spot and would be a great early september daytime viewing spot.
Yeah I'd be worried these places are just saying yes without actually knowing.
Glad no one is willing to drive to NB. More room in the Olive Branch or the Yard.
Hey guys: a reminder I'll have the game at the Olive Branch. Someone said it right --- DirecTV is pretty much the only service any bar pays for. If they claim they're showing the PAC12 network, do yourselves a favor and actually check it out. If you call around, an average server just assumes their bar/tavern gets all the channels, as did we. When we found out the only way to get the game was to get another satellite package, I got the company to come in and install the Dish, pay for programming, etc. This is a big expense and most places wouldn't dream of doing that for a 4 hour game.
My philosophy is simple. If Olive Branch is going to be "the" place to watch Rutgers games, I will make sure we receive the right channels, expense be damned. We're "all-in!!!"

I will double check when I get back to NJ that they have it. I was very specific about it being on PAC-12, which was only on Comcast or Dish Network. The owner's daughter and Marketing Director replied that they will have the PAC-12 network this season. Would there be sufficient interest to see if we could get the back bar as a viewing area? That would include me, my wife, probably another Rutgers fan, @RUBigFrank, @gmay8. There are others in the areas, such as @Dpgru, and others I am not remembering.
Small problem is it is Labor Day Weekend. Parking will be tough in Sea Bright. If you go and cannot find parking on Ocean Ave or in the lots, you can park in the neighborhood directly across the river from Tommy's and walk over the bridge. Just don't park on the Rumson Road extension.
I live in Point Pleasant and most have Comcast here. I would try the wharfside or one of the other bars in town. We're only the next town over.
