Are We Losing the Regular Posters on Here?

TOS gives me a headache. This is a great board with lots of good posters. Russ Wood provides the best content by far of any of the mods/analyst. I will be staying on this board.

If the football board can find someone like Russ that provides real insight they will get most to stay there too. Most of the articles in the past were just a collection of quotes from interviews. They need to do better. I just watch the coaches interviews on Rvision and get everything i need.

Opened an account on the new site--like here, freebie--to use the CE and BB boards. Bac and Shack have accounts there, but that doesn't mean they won't lurk both places.

The board interface over there is essentially unreadable and the basketball board here is free so not sure why anyone would give up posting on this board unless they have some personal relationship with the Scarlet Nation staff and posting here would cause some personal beef. I joined the other site for the month by month offer but for hoops I don't see any reason for anyone to leave this board.

I believe Russ said he’s staying and very happy about the new basketball analyst.
I'm still here, however, the Florida site also went thru a Publisher change at midnight Sunday morning and I've been quite busy on the Florida message board and generating content.

The new Florida Publisher offered me a spot on his team and I was not turning it down.

As for this site, there is going to be more content than before. Richie hired a basketball recruiting analyst who lives in Jersey and is plugged in. For those of you who also like Baseball and Wrestling, Richie brought on people to cover those RU teams.

There will be more content than before. I HIGHLY suggest that you peep the content on the Round Table board, you won't be disappointed. The basketball inside info will be posted there so sign up and get those four free months now so you don't miss out later.

I don’t post much... now it’s just a pain in the butt to check two sites. This site neglected basketball for years, and I expect the other to be the same. Whoever posts better basketball content gets my business.
Then you won't need to check two sites. You only need this one.

Richie cares about basketball coverage/content. I believe you will be very happy with this site..

Thank you for your kind words.

Like others have said, I plan to visit both boards. I don't subscribe to premium content on either site, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to me to visit both boards.

That said, I expect that it will get tiresome to visit two boards (especially when one has an awful user interface), and I expect people to naturally migrate to one board or the other. At some point, one board will have more traffic, which will generate even more traffic.

Yeah, I really don't get the free users climbing over themselves to proclaim themselves "new board people." I just plan on checking both, and it will work itself out. That said, I really cannot stand that board so far.

Also, the addition of people covering basketball, wrestling etc. with free content, kind of make this the better choice for now. With the addition of Lex Knapp, this wrestling board is instantly more plugged in than before.

Most of my friends are on the other boards but I’m going to get to keep active to both communities

Have a feeling that, one way or the other, only one will be the THE board a year from now

I just tried getting on site via my computer and it would not even load it....absolutely atrocious...you cannot make a move like this and expect people to jump when the interface is a flat out disaster

That happened to me yesterday...it was laggy and wouldn't scroll, and then got completely stuck. I had to close out Chrome and start over. Its horrible.

all I want to do is be able to post easily. Its not about pretty functions and alerts, just basic message board stuff...like how every single message board all over the world is. You plug the URL into the browser, it comes up, you click the board and you start reading and posting. Are all 247 boards that bad or just the Rutgers board

I agree it's horrible, it keeps freezing on me as well and lag time is atrocious when it doesn't freeze. Click on something and wait for the little pin wheel to stop going around. Very frustrating. Plus I have to use the zoom function on my computer to read anything. It's like trying to read the fine print on an aspirin bottle

Jellyman has left.

if this has the better interface why even post over there?
The information is similar if not better here right now.

Do you have s personal relationship with John O?
My opinion:
Some who made the move just feel comfortable with a lot more of the others that went there. Most of the SN (Rivals) posters are probably going to check out the 247 site and stay here until the decide to cut one or the other out.
The format there right now hinders that site from having posters leave rivals KR and just post on SN.

Of course there are those who seem to hate (dislike) the old rivals Rutgers board's administration and look for ways to knock them any and every chance they get. Turning the move into an us against them theme.
But for now because of the way 247 is formatted this site will get more traffic.

Once SN on 247 upgrades their format they should increase traffic, but this site probably will continue to have more because posters are more used to coming here first because
they were turned off on the way SN was such a hassle to popst on right after the change , compared to KR that took their spot on Rivals and won;t see a reason to make SN their top board choice because they feel the regular posers here make this board the most enjoyable
But once SN upgrades format, some posters who are undecided will decide it's where they feel most confortableposting at and not because of the leadership, but the regulars posting there.

Possible.

The biggest flaws I see are probably:
- lack of an "alerts" function that shows you when people have replied to you
- having to scroll to the top to "post reply" to a topic if I'm not replying to a specific user
- lack of a "search threads" functionality

Those are all workable for me. There has been some really good feedback around things they could do to make the interface better, which would make it a much better overall experience.

FYI your second flaw is not accurate. It will only quote/reply directly to someone if you hit “quote”. You can hit “reply” on any comment and it will open up a clean response.

And FWIW Maryland’s primary site is 247 and it’s a really great community. Michigan State’s board is expansive too.

I've since learned that... Which works on 247 because clicking reply on someone's post isn't tracked in their system in a way that would prompt a notification.

If there were "reply" notifications, you'd need a separate button to post in a thread without generating a notification.

New board is not giving me tech issues--maybe because I use a computer. Created an avatar, added my signature. Lots more message board activity on this site. Some of the people here (Real, Mad Hat, etc), have been dual citizens for many, many, many moons. But as noted there isn't much message board activity there, and have not been overall impressed with the posters that are native to the Other Board.
