For the first time in like forever we are united as a fan base. When we were an average team half of the board supported keeping flood as HC while the other half wanted him gone. He has dragged down this program so far that we all are in agreement. Its been kind of uplifting seeing the comedy after the game.

Oh don't worry. The defenders will be out in force in due time. Give it 12 hours.

I can live without the losing and I take no pleasure in watching Rutgers get humiliated.

I will say that I am glad to see the we only recruit "Rutgers men" nonsense is finally dead and buried. That was always used by some to excuse poor recruiting. The idea that we were better off taking lower ranked athletes that magically were determined to have superior character was always a total bunch of crap.

No, that was not a bunch of crap. Once upon a time we did recruit "Rutgers men". Look at what Belichick said as far as why he drafted Rutgers players. He said Rutgers players were high character and had high work ethics.

It only became a bunch of crap when Flood took over.

Very wrong assessment of the total fan base. Don't think there are many thinking flood is a top coach but there are still many that realize the circumstances of this year and realize the grass is not always greener based on who would even be available to replace him, and this group does not feel flood Ned's to go. I know many of these people. Much of what you think is reality based on who posts on a fan board is a bad representation of the true feeling of a population. Like I have read and said many times here the whiners want to whine together... And they have much more motivation to express there whinings. Mob rules theory. Those who feel otherwise have no motivation to post on a message board. Boneheadedness is not something that is easily changed.. So those with this opposing view just stay away giving a disproportionate number of posts weighted toward the dissatisfied position.

I don't know but I recently had to start using an old secondary rivals account that I had barely used. Most off my recent posts have been in the. Vain of don't Fire flood and I have been getting many likes on these posts from many people who I have never seen post here.. Seems to support my theory. Would love to tell you all about my acquaintances who feel the same.. But for obvious reasons that will not happen.

I respect the fact you make your points without name calling. But I have to tell you the dozen or so likes you get, coupled with acquaintances make up about 1% of our fanbase.

And what percentage of our fan base do you think posts negatively on this board.. My estimate is that there are about 100 people who regularly post here about firing flood, but even if I am way off and it is 1000 people that is only 2% of the stadium size and I would venture to say our fan base is larger.... Conservatively. 200,000 fans? so that makes it 0.5% of the fan base explicitly voicing this opinion on this message board. And even on this board it far from 100% for firing flood. No way to project threse numbers to the overall non posting fan base as I will argue strongly that the the mob rules phenomena would significantly alter this number.

Lets make believe these message boards don't exist.
Are you saying you think a significant portion of our fanbase want Flood back...and you actually believe that?
Why is it every single person I talk to who don't even know these boards exist thinks Flood is god awful

slyker, i can't tell if you're trolling, but seriously...

Do a poll...see what numbers you come up with

Anyone who knows anything about college football knows Flood needs to go. Recruiting is the lifeblood of college ball and Flood flat out cannot recruit at all. That alone is all the reason you need... and non-message board posters know this as well.

What percentage of the fan base thinks Slyker is clinically insane.....wait for it....100%

I think Slyker might be the most creative troll I have ever come across on the webs.

Unless ru gets a windfall of money to spend ,and I mean 6 million to spend on a new staff, we may as well stand pat. Hiring another coordinator will not change anything. Big time successful coaches cost real money.

I don't think so.

I think you're confusing Flood defenders with those who just wanted to let the season play out instead of bitching after every single game and getting pleasure when the team loses for the sake of giving a better chance to fire Flood.

It's pretty clear that any decision will not be made until after the season, given some drastic circumstances like this investigation finding out more dirt on Flood.

If Rutgers is going to make a change its going to take way more than a few thousands dollars from a couple hundred people on a Gofund me account. Hermann is going to have to get some big pledges from the our few big donors and that remains to be seen if she can do that.

My biggest fear is we fire Flood and go cheap and replace him with some mediocre coach like Al Golden or some low profile coach. That is not what we need.

It will take a lot more than a new coach to get this team back to being in the top half of the BIG10. This team is so short handed and undersized for the BIG10. We weren't beating the crap out of opponents in the BigEast or AAC so people need to really temper their expectations for the next 3-5 years.

This should be pinned to the top. This board has been dominated by a handful of loudmouth posters, in their floodbeater t-shirts, shouting down and mocking anyone that does not pledge 100% for "fire Flood," and declare that everything about him sucks. I posted a thread about the graduation rate, and I was roundly mocked for being a Flood fanboy.

Rutgers being Rutgers, I can see Rutgers not firing Flood (absent something in the investigation), or hiring some Mickey Mouse replacement. The hiring process for the AD and running Frazier out as a viable candidate spoke volumes about what Rutgers considers important in athletics. The faculty's over the top reaction about athletics and spending is going to hamstring any attempt to hire top flight coaches, from the standpoint of what Rutgers will spend and any top flight candidate seriously considering Rutgers as a viable job.

I don't see anything changing until Barchi is gone. Our #1 booster is a Flood fan, and there are no big donors who will fund a new coach.

I understand the angst of posters. Nobody enjoys losing and getting destroyed on the field. But stop misdirecting your anger at anyone who does not buy into your bloodlust.

But these are Flood recruits. If you don't think we have the right players, how does it make sense to keep him in charge?

We are just hurting ourselves farther into the future with each year he's the coach
