Ash has team coming in at 5am for workouts

Everything you said is correct, but this is the Rutgers board where posters can deny student athletes their winter/holiday break so they can workout at 5am...while the poster is enjoying his vacation and sitting home thinking of dumb sh!t to post. I guess any team that has a bad year should cancel all vacations and breaks and workout at 5am...that'll turn things around.
This is very funny

We used to have 5 am work outs at one of the high schools I coached for. Every athlete that was in season for another sport, or had to work after school, came at 5 am.

The guys, some who are still teenagers, get very little time at home, winter break, a couple of weeks between the spring semester and the first summer session and a few days right before summer camp starts. They are not indentured servants.

Give me a break. They haven't formally worked out or played football in over a month.

It will be 1/14. Christmas and New Years are long gone.

No one has problems with them starting workouts when they get back next week, just Al's suggestion that they should have been on campus since the 3rd.

5 Way Tie BE Champs Banner will NOT be celebrated under this regime.

(I am embarrassed for RU it ever was)

That was one of the things that always drove me crazy about Flood. Based on his comments (which he held fast to even some time later), you would have thought we had won the national championship. In reality, we "won" a multi-way share of the watered down remnants of the old Big East, which had we not collapsed down the stretch, we should have taken outright. It was basically a 3 way tie for tallest midget.

(I always felt stronger and had more "pop" in the afternoon workouts compared to that year I had morning workouts. The coaches must have disagreed.)

Sorry man , but a Conference Championship is a Conference Championship 5 way tie or no.
Every School does this.

Players at championship programs stay in the dorms during winter break. I don't know what the rules are here, but football players should be accomodated, if they desire to be.

we can make up for a lack of talent. Can't afford to be outworked.

Don't recall you ever mentioning our lack of talent and how RU needed to work harder during Flood's regime.,,,,or ever for that matter.

What time did they start conditioning under Schiano and Flood? Early morning workouts are the norm so as to not interfere with class schedule with first period starting @8am. Why is this even news?

When Schiano started at Rutgers one of the first things implemented were early morning workouts. I remember an interview with Schiano where he said one of the key things needed in instilling discipline and a work ethic in a team (and in life) is for palyers to learn that rolling over and turning off the alarm won't get you anywhere.

Other schools might do it, but fans don't have to be duped into it. For me claiming a 5 way championship as a fan was a joke. Lou went to the BCS game, they won the conference. Anything else is BS imo.

Need to switch to midnight workouts about two weeks prior to our opener at Washington. I believe the @WSU game finished around 2AM EDT.

This is common. It the best time simply because no one has an excuse to miss them because of a class. The only other time would be after 8 or 9 pm however coaches like to be free then to work on recruiting.
Well, I understand that as result of RU's declining USNWR ranking Barchi has cancelled the faculty's winter break and they will need to come in a 5 AM for Early Riser classes once the semester starts so that option might be out.
