Ash on 710 WOR right now

Thanks. Unfortunately, for me, I only caught the last 10 seconds of the interview.

Nothing you didn't hear at the introductory presser.

Fast, aggressive, play for each other.

Always wanted to be head coach. Has a plan.

Response was positive. Clearly people are enamored with the Urban Meyer angle. Really nothing negative (i.e. The usual backhanded comments)

"He sounds like a football coach" - quoting the guy on WOR

Imo- the "why Rutgers " pitch needs a little work - but, otherwise all good.

Outside of fertile recruiting ground and conference what would you like him to say?
He came because if the institutional support?
Nj's great weather?
Supportive Press?
State love of its University?
The amazing salary and budget?

Fertile recruiting ground and top tier competition in the Big Ten East.

I think Rutgers needs to push hard on location, proximately to NYC and opportunities from Wall St to Madison Ave, plus proximately from going to beach to hunting. We should have the best internship programs including sports broadcasting and RVision should be part of that.

Agree. NJ offers a truly diverse set of opportunities that aren't found in most other schools. From the beach to skiing, Broadway to Atlantic City, hunting in the Poconos to clubbing in Manhattan... easiest access to NYC and Philly of any P5 school, sandwiched between the #1 and #4 media markets in the country...

There is a lot to sell at Rutgers. Add to that the fertile recruiting ground and national spotlight of the conference... now all Ash needs to do is string together some strong seasons and upset a couple big boys, and he could really get the train rolling. He HAS to have confidence that he can do that, or he wouldn't have come here. He just has to infect potential recruits with that confidence, and sell their parents on the opportunities that Rutgers has to offer.

Well said, my man. You need to write the copy for RU's next commercial. The RU community (and NJ) needs better self esteem. I love living here for all the reasons you mentioned and then some. Sure we have our negatives, but so does every place/state.

The kids on the team taking Theater Appreciation will really enjoy Broadway! Especially if they choose to go to class.
