I know it was very late in the east, but Todd Graham made a costly coaching blunder and it cost his team dearly. Traiilng by 1with less than 5 minutes to play, ASU scores a TD to put them up 5,Graham eschews the 2 pt conversion (he claims "mismanagement" on the sidelines), kicks the XP and ASU leads by 6. WVU scores a TD and kicks the conventional XP and wins by 1.

The coaches card clearly called for going for 2, Graham admitted that fact after the game, yet, the play went off as unintended . Will there be consequences for his "mismanagement"?

I was at the game. They made a number of mistakes. When WV got the ball at the end of the game ASU waited 7 seconds after the play to call a TO. Graham was looking at this staff as if nobody knew who's job it was to tell the ref. there was a lot of yelling and screaming at each other amongst the coaches.

Graham and his Special Teams coach were breathing fire at each other all game. I thought they were going to brawl when they called a timeout on a kickoff...I think it was a 1 point game and ASU looked like they might go for an onside kick. After standing around letting the 25 second clock run down they called a timeout and Graham went ballistic.

ASU/Graham were picked by many to be a top 10 team prior to this season...right?

I think he's got much bigger issues to deal with based on them falling way short of that, vs. effing up in a bowl game...but, hey, what do I know.

Just what does or should a head coach do? As a head coach you need to put yourself on top of the game and also your assistants. Sometimes there are just too many assistants. AND as we know some coaches down too much time taking notes and not actively coaching the game on gameday.

And yes Graham blew it and the ballgame. In which case WV instead of kicking might have decided go to go for 2.

Oregon coaching left a lot to be desired in that blown loss yesterday - besides the obvious failure to hold a 31 pt lead, clock management was pretty bad - left two timeouts on the board at end of regulation - chose not to use them with TCU in FG range with 1:30 left on the clock. - would have been huge to have more time trying to get in position for the winning FG
