I have no idea what to think about the current status of the team and program.

I really thought that even so short players, RU had a very good chance to win 2 games down the stretch - and if really lucky, 3 games. I see a lot of potential next season and the season beyond, with a core of Sanders, Laurent, Williams, N. Johnson, Freeman, Foremen, plus Diallo and Doorson (if those 2 get healthy for the 2016-17 season) ... not saying NCAA potential without additional good players, but real progress towards respectability.

I also believe it is good when a coach disciplines even stars ... but understand that it is NOT good when that discipline is required ... hence my conundrum.

I would have said I am speechless ... but am I ever really speechless, LOL? So ... "at a loss ..."

I did want to post, rather than have people think I just disappeared in despair (but I was away Sunday and Monday, not looking at the internet, and only saw the news late Monday night).

I have no inside info but I strongly doubt that sanders will be here for more than one more year.

I think I know what you probably think, but the question becomes can you conclude.

The probability of getting to the trend line that would be reasonable is becoming smaller and smaller.

After a few weeks of actually playing better and seemingly competing better- I was feeling a little better. Again, not the least bit satisfied that we aren't winning, but they were baby steps. This is just another kick in the b@lls!

I feel so bad for the kids on this team that go out and work hard and try to do their best. Eddie has simply run this program further into the ground than when he took over. Not because he suspended Sanders and Freeman but that he has no oversight of the program, has marginal B1G players (I'm sure some will say I am being kind) and really is an AWFUL College coach. I really hope we can usher in, yet again, another era on men's basketball some late March.

The premise to keep Jordan was built on that the talent was getting better, and the two key players would be Sanders and Freeman. In the past few weeks, both have been suspended. The chances of those two leading this team into the future is very very cloud. You cant build a program on false hopes

Unfortunately, what is happening this season is just more of the same despair and ridicule on and off the court. The names of the players and coaches change but the results remain the same.Decades of inattention have come home to roost and there really are no surprises anymore. The athletic department, coaching staff and players are all at fault for allowing this nonsense to continue unabated.Nobody seems to be watching and controlling the chaos.

I've told all my friends to lay big $$$ against us the next 2 weeks. How the hell are we gonna keep any game close right now?

bad advice. Daniels, Grier and Lewis (3 out of 6) are seniors and this is it. This has been Sanders team and Daniels has had a real hard time of it. At some point you are in a big losing streak and all you hear about is how great 1 player is. Corey seems like a good teammate, but at some point it has to bother you to hear about how bad supporting cast is. Now is the time, the clock is running out, i think tonight the game is close.

well said, I am not surprised by anything that happened yesterday. I wouldn't predict but not surprised at all. Its just a continuation of what we have seen and come to expect for 25 years. Until ACCOUNTABILITY with the President to the BOG to the AD to the coaching staff becomes something they actually care about, this will continue to go on. We may be onto something with Hobbs but he is only one part of the equation

So you're going with, let's say, a "non-logical" theory of gambling, which is okay with legitimate reasons backing them up, but you've given at all, literally, none.

huh.....

I am telling you the team will rally around the concept of the supporting cast is not as awful as it seems.

That is a rationale for the team to cover.

Same here. Until the two suspensions, I have remained in Eddie's corner...I just don't see it anymore. If the lockerroom is right, it is the last straw. If the lockerroom isn't right...its a myth that next year will be a turnaround year.

LOL okay from your lips to God's ears because, with a 6-man rotation, that's what it's going to take. Even against Illinois.

i am not sure this is a locker room thing. it appears chemistry is good.

Illinois is not very good. It is really a 5 1/2 man rotation.

You know sports, how often does a team rally around an injury and do OK for the 1st few games before tanking.

Players are human they have to be sick hearing about how good Corey Sanders is. Now they get to show how good they are.

i am in the minority here.....we are the worst team in major conference basketball maybe in the past 10-15 years. Corey can't be that good if he is the QB of the team. he is very skilled and makes amazing plays, but he isn't making his teammates better. From a pure statistically standpoint, i take wit a grain of salt, he isn't that great. KENPOM has his offensive rating at 98.3 which is below average. Go ahead and disagree with the numbers, i'll be on your side with some of it. 38-120 from 3 31.7%. he is #1 in B1G play in shots per possession at 31.6% of them. he has his hands on the basketball a lot and we are putrid offensively. He has to be part of the blame here (offensively, I have a ton to blame defensively that is very little to none on him)

betting on Sheridan to light it up for a double double before any of these three do. maybe 1, maybe two of them play well. But Ru never has the whole thing going together.

need to petition Georgia Tech for the use of the "Rambling Wreck" nickname.

It is getting very difficult to envision a scenario in which Eddie digs himself out of this hole. It all comes down to recruiting, and as the program continues to fall deeper and deeper into the abyss, it is hard to imagine what he could do to halt the death spiral.

15 point underdog tonight ... Will RU cover?

this seems way too low. something see

Just heard Sheridan has been suspended indefinitely.

We have to wait till 9 PM to witness this game ? Even more cruel and inhuman punishment for RU fans.

Where are the points going to come from on a team devoid of consistent scorers?Walk ons might be forced to play extended minutes because there is no quality depth on the bench.

I think EJ has enough excuses to stay at least another year with: 1. The Rice fiasco; 2. He had to gamble with recruits with questionable backgrounds because of the fallout; and 3. The spate of injuries. Also, we don't know how tight Hobb's salary budget is at this point in time. Does he have enough money to buy out EJ's contract and pay the kind of money it's going to take to lure a decent replacement?

I honestly feel for you guys. No fans should have to endure such a clusterf$ck of a program.

No! To #2!!!!

It all started with JJ Moore. Took the easy way out. Instead of returning phone calls from HS coaches he went after program killers because they had talent.

Illonois still wins tonight. I get what you mean by the rally, but who else replaces sanders points and defense?

Also, hsi assist show he gets his team mates involved. Will you ever say you like any Rutgers player?Your favorite player who I ever saw you give credit to was Daniels. Just curious it does not seem like you give players credit. If I am wrong in saying that, I apologize and am wrong. If not, seems sour.

Anyone else ever in the history of Rutgers?lol you say you like Mike Williams, and Corey doesn't do anything to better his team mates. Mike Williams does not have an assist to his name. Puzzling.
Not even one. Corey scores, passes, defends, and energizes. Nope, Corey just doesn't deserve any props, right?

do you remember first game of the season without Corey and Freeman missing the first half..thats what you get tonight except its Illinois and not RutgersNewark. Illinois will have a party tonight..37-18 type score at half

Just curious how many HS coaches told you that EJ doesn't return phone calls. It seems to me you relayed this story in year 1 when spoke to 1 coach. Is this based on that conversation - or are there others as well.

BTW, Jordan had basically no players in year 1 due to the exodus from the Rice scandal and he was forced to reach for players - Moore, Etou, Seagears, D'von Campbell. And this starting in April after Rice humiliated RU.

He did start in April, some people must think he started early march. And took back Craig brown who was rice recruit. Campbell and Brown were useless.

Exodus of players? Just Eli Carter and Mike Poole.

That's it. Seagears, Kone, Mack, Jack, Lewis and Judge all stayed.

Why should Jordan get more time because he chose to keep the previous assistants?

That team won more games than any of Eddie teams so to say we had an exodus is untrue.

From what I'm told I think many of you are going to be disappointed with what happens after the season.
