looks like there are a lot of empty seats at this game. I realize it's cold but I am surprised

Right after the half. Fans still at concessions getting hot chocolate!!

Got my best cup of not chocolate in Heinz Stadium when RU played PITT in 2012.
Although we lost the game we backed into a tie of the BE title.

High-Def at home and the cost of playoff tickets will lead to empty seats when it is real cold out. Heck even the Packers had a hard time selling out for their game against the Giants.

With the current bowl situation more and more we will see made for TV viewership and not attendance.Years ago there were less bowls and featured in warmer climates and we're meaningful. Now things seem to be money grab type events with overall interest becoming less as is attendance. Location is also key....why potentially freeze your butt in NYC etc and pay high hotel and travel $$$ when you can stay home and watch the game when you can leverage the same $$$ in Florida, California Arizona etc now or at some other time of the year.

You know the OP was talking about yesterday's NFL playoff game, right?
Never mind. You don't.

I too noticed empty seats throughout the stadium. I know it was cold but man oh man the stadium looked 1/2 full.

On a slightly different subject I took the honey and my daughter to see the Jets play the colts on Monday night and almost every seat by the 50 yard line was empty.

Seriously, I think the Temp at game time was 16 degrees with a pretty strong wind.

Some fans will sit in some of the worst weather as if it is some "Red Badge of Courage" to watch millionaire players when you can sit home in comfort and have the best coverage on TV..

Most of the fans who had Club Seats were inside watching it on the closed circuit TV.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

What is closed circuit tv? Wouldn't they just pump in the CBS broadcast?
