Men -
6 teams, Ill, OSU, Pur, MSU, Ind, and NW made the NCAA Regionals. Ill, OSU, and Pur advanced to the Final 30. Pur didn't make the Medal portion final finishing 29th. The Illini earned the #1 Seed in the Match Play by finishing first, 16 strokes ahead of 2nd Place Vandy. OSU also made the Final 8 with a 7th Place finish.
The Illini were beaten in the Quarterfinals by the 8th seed, Georgia Tech, 3 matches to 1 with 1 match unfinished.
OSU defeated #2 Seed Vandy 3 1/2 - 1 1/2. In the Semi Finals they dropped a 3-2 match to #6 seed Auburn with the final pair going 21 Holes before it was decided.
Auburn went on to defeat FSU for the championship.
Women -
The women had 7 teams in the Regionals with 3 teams, NW, MSU, and Pur advancing. Purdue amd MSU were eliminated after 3 Rounds while NW made Round 4 but finished 11th and were eliminated.
Stanford, with Holmdel HS grad Megha Ganne winning her match, defeated UCLA 3-2 in the Final.
Of B1G interest going forward is along with UCLA, the Women's Final 4 also included soon to be B1G members, USC and Oregon. Ouch.
