First, congrats to Rikke Norkvik on being named Co-B1G Womens Golfer of the Week for her wire to wire victory last weekend. She is the 2nd RU golfer in the last 3 weeks to be named POTW (Leigha Devine 3/28).

This weekend's tourney is being held at Ohio State's Scarlet Course. For the women, it's a 6,347yd Par 72. Unlike last week's Rutgers Invitational where only 2 teams including Rutgers were ranked in the Top 100, 11 of 12 entered this weekend are Top 100 teams. Also, all participants but Kent St, are B1G members. Only #7 Northwestern, Maryland, and Michigan aren't entered. #30 Mich St leads the field followed by #31 Purdue and host, #38 Ohio State. Rutgers, the 10th highest ranked team in the field, will be paired with Iowa and Penn State in rounds 1 and 2.

RU will go with the regular 5 of Devine, Nordvik, Cathi Graf, Lucrezia and Lorena Rossettin along with, after her 6th Place finish at the Rutgers Inv, Emiy James. Krystal Li gets the nod to play as an individual.

Just read the course is an old school Alister MacKenzie design that was recently renovated by Jack Nicklaus' company.

RU is currently the Top Team in the NE, followed by BC and Yale.

After the morning round Rutgers finds itself in a 5th Place tie after a team +10, 298. I neglected to mention, just like last week this is a 6 player, top 4 scores count event.

Rikke Nordvik continued her strong consistent play from last weekend shooting a steady Even Par 72, 2 strokes off the lead and tied for third with 3 others including teammate Leigha Devine. Devine's round was a tale of two 9s, She struggled to a +4 on her first 9 and +5 after 12 but then Birdied 5 of her last 6 holes to join Nordvik. Frosh Lorena Rossettin contributed a 4 Over 76. Lucrezia Rossettin and Frosh Emily James shot 78's and Cathi Graf an 86. Playing as an Individual, Frosh Krystal Li shot 84.

The 2nd round is already under way.

The 2nd Round was nowhere near as positive as the first for Rutgers. The team shot a +18, 306 which was the 11th out of 12 teams. Only PSU shot worse (308). In doing so, RU's +28, 2 round total dropped the team from T4 to T8 with Minnesota, 1 stroke behind 7th Place Nebraska then a huge gap to Wisconsin and Purdue tied for 5th at +18.

Rutgers was lead by Leigha Devine's 3 Over 75. She stands tied for 9th individually. After Devine were 75's by Rikke Nordvik, Lucrezia Rossettin, and Cathi Graf. Lorena Rossettin shot 78 and Emily James, 81. Playing as an individual Krystal Li shot 85. Devine and Nordvik (T18) are the only 2 in the top half of the 75 player field. No other member of the team is higher than T56.

Things didn't get better in the Final Round for RU, shooting a 2nd team +18, and dropping 1 spot to 9th. They came into the event as the 10th ranked team out of 12. Playing as an Individual, Krystal Li shot 85.

Devine had the best overall finish with a tie foir 14th out of the 75 who started yesterday. With Nordvik and Lu Rossettin next at T44 no other member of the team finished in the top half of the field.
