A really good read that contrasts the state of tOSU's program versus Rutgers' program.

Things from story:
1. Chris Ash likes notebooks. He has a LOT of them.
2. He likes cupcakes.
3. Lots of coaches are reaching out to him.
4. He has been working 20 hours per day while in Columbus.
5. “I leave this building and I’m a Rutgers man,” Ash said. “That’s my future. That’s what I’m looking forward to. But I want to finish here.”
6.“Being a head coach is not about Xs and Os,” Ash said. “It’s about being a leader: Developing your coaches, developing your players, recruiting the right people. It’s about being a manager and setting up processes and systems and holding people accountable.”

Can't think of a better way to start your day--reading an article like this. I'm stoked! Already thinking about a road trip to Seattle. Going to consider that our belated bowl game from this year.

It is absurd that the word " process" has come to be vilified in these parts as some kind of buzz word for incompetence , idiosyncratic dependency, or comedic relief. The word, rightfully so, has become part of coach speak and is used by the best of them. To continue this nonsense as the OP has done here by bolding the word, is churlish, unnecessary and tags the new coach with what others perceive as negative qualities of a predecessor. If it was an wttempt at humor, it was not funny. We get it; now stop it.

Thanks Knight Shift. Great piece. Who knew besides everything else, he would be bringing national championship cupcakes to the banks!

Kidding aside, great to see how many NJ HS coaches are reaching out to him and positive. Just goes to show how much damage his predecessor did two years ago with that whole commits must never speak to or visit other programs nonsense.

Lighten up, Francis. Goodness, it's a message board, and some of us like to have fun. Like LoBro and Subway, "process" has become a fun word around here. I see you did not object to the notebooks being bolded, and thank you for that. Because I would not be able to go on with my day if everything in my post was frowned upon by you.
I do commend you for use of the word "churlish." I'll use it in my next scrabble game. Peace and love and cupcakes. Happy New Year.

#5... "He wants to finish here (Ohio St.)...

I am taking it as what he had said before in finishing what he started when he came to Ohio St. 2 years ago which means he will be finished with his time at Ohio St. after their bowl game....

I am excited about what he can possibly accomplish at Rutgers but Jan 1st can't come soon enough

In fact I didn't see "notebooks" being bolded because it wasn't- at least not at the time I looked at your post. Let the new guy fail or succeed on his own; he doesn't need Schiano's or Flood's baggage to be in the mix.

After that article, "cupcakes" may become a new keyword in the RU football message board parlance, right up there with "process", "notebook" and let's not forget "1-0".

Well this is the OP's board. There isn't a day that goes by where he doesn't post at least one new thread. So don't argue with him. It's his way or the highway.

I don't think you learned much from that article that you did not already know from listening to his two pressers. Hoping for the best with Ash. Will have a better idea once he completes his staff and see how they finish with recruiting this year. Probably works better for me not to have great expectations and hopefully be pleasant surprised.

Well if Mrs Ash continues the tradition of cupcakes only after wins, think about how much more healthy his diet will be at Rutgers than Ohio State.

Ask me how I know you're someone that was banned from this forum. Thirteen posts in and you're already making personal attacks. You don't let any grass grow under your feet, do you?

First I have been on the board for years. The counter wrong. Second, youre saying only those people that post 100 times a day are worthy posters? OP has 5 threads on the first page. I guess your his/her friend but variety is the spice the spice of life. This board has become so boring and you are a perfect example on why. Call out someone with a different opinion/view.

Who said anything about "worthy posters"? Who even thinks like that? And as far as I'm concerned, I'm everybody's friend, including yours.

None of which changes the basic fact that you just attacked another forum member whose sole crime appears to be that he's more prolific than you like.

You do, you were the one that brought up my post count. Why does the number of posts make a difference?

I said nothing about worthy posters. If you can't figure out why I mentioned your post count, and that it had nothing whatsoever to do w/a forum member's worthiness, then no amount of explanation can help you.

Carry on w/your unprovoked attacks on other forum members.

First of all what attack are you talking about. Its a fact that the OP has dominated this board for over a month. Starting a new thread minimum every day. Sunday 3 threads.
And please explain why you needed to point out I had only 13 posts as not being derogatory. And I have had posts for years. The number count for me is inaccurate. Why is it a problem for you?

FAIL

Sorry, I have been wanting to try that out. :)

Let's just move on, shall we?
