Revenue sharing is not between schools, it just means schools can share THEIR revenue with athletes, effectively paying them up to a 20 million cap initially. This isn’t the ADs decision. Rutgers is in the red as it is. That means the school needs to come up with 20 million itself somehow.
The 20 becomes an additional expense. Student fees with 40k students of $500 each would do it.
Not to mention back pay to prior athletes. You know from all that profit the school made.

The $20M is coming out of the $80-$100M Big Ten media distribution to schools. It hasn’t been approved yet but is expected to be approved.
So are we getting that by July? Is this a 20 million increase from current levels? We will basically run with the same deficit after BIG windfall.
Yes, we’re getting that in July, and it will be at least a $20M increase. Now this is for the 2024 season. Distributions are made after the year is complete
Michigan State is 10-6 against us.. thanks largely to Chris Ash who went 0-4 and, I think, didn't score on Sparty.
I looked it up.. overall score over 4 games.. 130-17.. with 2018 coming close losing 10-14 to Sparty. So.. 2 games where we did not score. 1 game scored 10 and another 7.
Schiano takes over and beats Sparty in his first game and GS 2.0 is now 3-2 vs Sparty. GS1.0 was 1-1 vs Sparty. So a Schiano-lead Rutgers is 4-3 vs Michigan State.
Flood was 0-2 vs Michigan State.
Ash was 0-4.
A Rutgers fan should know such things.
They better come up with the $$, otherwise I think we see the better players seek greener pastures. As far as leveling, it will not level but it will help to compete with our level of peers and those just above us. The biggest programs will always have their bagman in the wings, their rich traditions and their fancy facilities to lure the best players to their campus.
As stated, im basing sparty more on historical success (and, never mentioned their h2h vs us, as we never played often prior to B1G, and H2H has nothing to do w whers they are historocly) as theyve been top range 25 for most of my lifetime, and in past 10-15 years, had some awesome teams playing in rose and ny6 bowls
Well I hope didn’t have other plans for that like improving facilities etc. Definitely could see other sports cut.
