Post signing day - State of the program

I know there's a Rutgers football discussion in here somewhere, let me see if I can find it again. A couple of things:
-Happy with the resilience shown by the team to finish strong.
-The extra practice time for the bowl game will only help us heading into next year.
-Need the guys who showed improvement over the past four games to continue on their upward trajectory and not plateau.
-Can we stay a little healthier next year? Geez, one of the worst injury-plagued years I can remember going all the way back to Graber when injuries and academic attrition destroyed our defenses.
-Good class - very happy with it. Now who can contribute early?
-Schedule is tougher on paper, but every program changes so much from year-to-year, we can't write off any season.
-NIL - Rutgers structure seems clearer to me now. Will be giving my support in addition to whatever else I give. But the key here will be what jaydog referenced - will corporate support grow? That's the most important thing.

Does NiL reform level the playing field? This assumes Rutgers comes up with 20 million in revenue to spend.

We’ll have to wait on the final settlement, but things looking good on the revenue sharing side. I home something can be done to regulate the booster/NIL.

What???? You do care who goes or doesn't! Do you even read the shit you write? You just brought up me not going to Homecoming and the Pinstripe multiple times just in this thread alone. If you don't care why do you keep bringing it up? You are the one derailing this thread complaining about my attendance at Rutgers events! Funny how you keep forgetting the things you post!
If you can't figure out I'm breaking your balls, I honestly don't know what to tell you
Moreover, if you'd simply stop coming at me, and stop making the threads all about your personal vendetta, we wouldn't have any issues

Truthfully, I do feel bad for you
And, if you ever need to talk, JayDog is always here to lend a shoulder

Don't feel bad for the fake whitebus in your head, he doesn't exist. Nothing to feel bad about me. Living the good life. It's been a wonderful year all around and my Rutgers team was a part of a great year. Watching FSU implode brought a good laugh nearly every weekend too!

I think you secretly love FSU
You bleed garnet and gold
The Warchant is on your playlist 24/7
Chief Osceola is your inspiration

We're on to you Bus...we're on to you

Id start by saying that the fighters on this thread should either brawl or get a hotel room

Thanks for resetting the conversation

Mostly agree but would add -

-Injuries this year were bad, but last year we were extremely healthy/fortunate. So it evened out.

-We need to get NIL support and pour into player retention. If we bring everyone back and add the last 2 recruiting classes, I absolutely love this roster.

-New guys I would expect to contribute : Renick Dorilas as a depth corner, Braxton Kyle as a depth DT, Steven Murray as a gadget WR/KR, and utimately "Ice Cup" cause he's got a great nickname. But thankfully, I believe that we are substantially stocked so that true frosh are not really needed, I hope .

I'd finish by stating the mental midget who started the shit needs to get off my dick
Besides that, pretty solid recap

Oh, I know you
You may not think I do, but we all know the real Bus...
No. You had so much wrong about me on this thread you definitely don't know me! Only people that have actually met me know me including some on this board. Been to many board members tailgates and everyone knew where to meet me for Scarlet Walk.
You're confused with the fake whitebus in your head!

Trust me, I've seen you plenty of times
Interacted a few as well

Greg finished strong with the # 28 overall class.
Lost the kid to UGA (no shame in that), Forester to Illinois (all accounts say we cooled on him), and the guard to USF (crowded OL room and close to home for him)

Otherwise, a solid overall class
I've been critical of Greg re. his coaching, but his recruiting is still very good

Now comes the hard part - getting over the hump
The middle of the road, B1G being a tough ass conference, hump
Clearly, easier said than done

Oregon, Michigan, Buckeye, USC and Cult are the clear top dogs (long term)
Cignetti is solid and IU has good NIL, so you have to figure they'll at least be in the mix
Fickell and Ferenz are solid coaches at very good programs, so they'll be up there

I'd put us a notch below that
Rutgers, Washington, Illinois, Sparty, UCLA
Then NW, Purdue, Maryland and Minnesota

Question is, how do we get to Sparty / Wiscy / Iowa's level (or IU's, at least this year), stay there, then keep elevating
Obviously, NIL is huge
Haven't heard anything re. the firm that Hobbs hired getting corporations on board

I believe the NIL reform will help level the playing field
But we're still behind the rest in dollars (ticket sales, merch, etc.) by a substantial margin

Hoping we can keep ascending, as I truly believe we can be a consistent top 15 program with the right buy in and commitment
No reason we can't get to Iowa/Wiscy/Sparty type levels on a consistent basis
You have Minnesota too low. There’s little separation there. We beat Washington but they were in the finals last year. Not there yet. Md had a bad year. Let’s see what happens next year. Maybe they get another hotshot qb.
As far as the aspirations getting to Iowa wisc msu levels is not top 15 consistently. What you are really looking at is top 30ish consistently. Top 15 consistently in the short term seems like a very tall order.

Does FSU have a rivals site?

Just wondering why all JDog's posts are here.

I should add.. If Rutgers can turn a FSU first fan into a Rutgers fan, maybe we should welcome him.

I just have examples like some 'Eer fans and Huskeralways and SouthernGentleman as examples of fans of other teams who participate here as such and notice teh difference with JayDogs posts.

He seems worse than ImBadRU and about the same as that Miami fan who used to hang here,, think he had a handle like NJfan.. something like that.. and claimed to just be a fan of "excellence" or something like that.

They're top 25 (Iowa/Wiscy/Sparty), but I think we can climb higher than that to around top 15 if things break right
I think we have a better chance of consistent top 25, but with NIL, anything is possible
It'll take the right buy in re. NIL, but I truly believe it can be done

We do
My good friend Jerry Kutz runs it

It's not as active as here, which is why I post here (that, and I'm a Rutgers fan as well, having season tickets for 4 sports and donating to NIL) and I enjoy the OT threads as well, as there's some really smart/successful people on here who offer different perspectives

The difference between Eer, Huskers and Southern is they don't get the flak I do, but moreover, I don't take shit
If you run your mouth, and especially if you don't know what the hell you're talking about, I'm gonna call you out

Likewise, if I'm wrong, I don't mind stating that and giving credit to other posters as nobody knows everything and you're going to learn stuff from some really smart people if you play the slightest bit of attention

Overall, I don't mind bantering and disagreeing, but there's a fair amount of posters on here who like to run their mouths, and more often than not, they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground in regard to college football, and certainly don't donate to the future success of the program (NIL), but due to their longevity on the board or insane post count, act like their shit doesn't stink and openly mock those whom they feel superior to (which is hilarious as this is a college football message board, not the Royal Family)

I'm certainly no fan of excellence, whatever the hell that even means
I just love college football, love talking about it, and love FSU and Rutgers
Nothing more, nothing less

I’ll give you iowa as top 25. Wisky not since 2019 or so I believe. MSU maybe 1x in the last 7 years or so because of Kenneth Walker. Neither of those two are consistent too 25 programs. Consistent top 15 is a very high bar. Getting to iowas level would be a major accomplishment

I'm basing more on historical, and admittedly there's some recency bias with Sparty as they had some great teams under D'Antonio
Def agree consistent top 15 is a very high bar, but I believe we can achieve it w/the right buy in
Whether we will or not remains to be seen, but with NIL, anything is now possible

Thank you, RUPete, for trying to return this topic back to a recruiting discussion. Jaydogsmooth and white bus need to go out to the playground and play tetherball to end their "debate".

I love talking ball and dislike people derailing threads for their own selfish gain
Personal agenda's aside, maybe the mods can try to reel him in

Unhinged and old is a bad combination
Uninformed and clueless might be worse

I assume it has to do with the new revenue sharing decision. I believe it begins next July.
Revenue sharing is not between schools, it just means schools can share THEIR revenue with athletes, effectively paying them up to a 20 million cap initially. This isn’t the ADs decision. Rutgers is in the red as it is. That means the school needs to come up with 20 million itself somehow.

The 20 becomes an additional expense. Student fees with 40k students of $500 each would do it.

Not to mention back pay to prior athletes. You know from all that profit the school made.

You just can't keep your mouth shut. Seriously, what a lying turd. Being a pompous FSU fan until they implode and pretend being a great Rutgers fan is a bad combination.
Having the fake whitebus in your head rent free constantly might be worse. Talk about derailing the thread.

Lets recap
I started the thread, and then in the second reply, you immediately come at me for no reason at all

I get it
You’re old, likely Dementia laden, salty as ****, haven’t gotten laid in a decade and are lonely as a mother****er

But please, for the love of God, if you don’t have anything constructive to say regarding football or the state of the program, either don’r respond or go play in traffic

This is your replay and you're blaming me for your last unnecessary post to start it up again and now this one. 🤣🤣
I'm laughing hysterically that you have no answers and you can't leave it alone.
Do you really want to go down this road??? I can play this over the top game better then you. Your choice.

Thank you. But to be fair @JayDogSmooth started a legitimate football thread and @WhiteBus attacked him. Probably a violation of board etiquette or rules but I don’t know what passes for that these days. Bottom line is this: can you serial ball busters call a truce, shake virtual hands and move on?

I was done hours ago. He just can't let it go. He lit the flame again not me. My first post wasn't an attack. A factual statement about an admitted FSU fan. His last post about me was way over the top, against rules, but is very funny he has to go down that road. He is the guy destroying his own thread.

Both of you guys bring value to the board when you’re not doing this. The arguing and personal insults are sad.

Literally, the guys been nut hugging me to the point where im pretty sure he wants to blow me (unfortunately for him, I don’t roll like that so he’s shit out of luck)

Some banter to me is fine. I've had battles with Knight Shift, #s etc (I'd actually like to meet @RU848789 as we have similar music interest and two different formats of golf) but in the end there is no problem today with most people. No doubt he crossed the line with dementia and sex comments. Nobody needs to go that far but proves he is the unhinged guy on his thread. Anyway he can't complain about me killing this thread he's done the major work.

I think you’re both the problem and it’s unnecessary. But I’m not a mod so it really doesn’t matter what I think. Maybe the best thing is to ignore each other on threads and get back to doing your own things.
