The BIG schools know what they are getting, they just don’t feel the need to make public anything other than what has been reported. The deal is with the conference not the schools so no reason to provide more info. It is a s**tload of f**king money, what more do you need to know?

Until revenue > expenses, it is still not a win. That is THE only measure of a truly successful AD besides marginally or better athletic programs. No one except delusional expects Rutgers to be Ohio state or Bama.

A truly successful AD makes a profit and recycles that profit the university they represent. That, hopefully, is where RU is headed. Zero subsidies.

It’s all about TV sets. B1G added LA, SF and Seattle to a league that already had NYC, Chicago, DC, Philly, Baltimore, Detroit. Texas would have been a nice add with Houston/Austin/Dallas.

Figured i would put it here.

This years spring payouts will include the Big Ten's new media contract. Now the first year is reduced vs the average of the rest of the contract if i recall because CBS was still showing the SEC Game of the Week while USC and UCLA were not joining until 2024.

With the new SEC contract starting in 2024, they won't get a bump until next year.

My guess is the B10 teams will payout 70-80M to the 14 teams.(1-2M less for Maryland and Rutgers i assume just like this year)

The SEC will likely payout 53-55M. They got 51M last year.

Expect many Rutgers made 20M more than Georgia and Bama articles.

Spring 2026 payouts will also have lots of disparity since the B10 did well in the CFP and for the 2024-2025 seasons the CFP pays extra for reaching the quarter and semi finals before it becomes a flat conference payout in 2026.
