Jarrett might De commit in time to go to another team. Will Rutgers fans allow him to commit here?
What Rutgers fans think is not really relevant. What the coaching staff thinks? Pretty damn relevant and my opinion on that is they have their qb for this class.
but jarrett was told he will start for 4 years after a red shirt year. i'm sure this new commit will be happy to start for only one year after jarrett graduates...

Fully agree, I am glad we have Russo, he is down to earth type a guy, more humble then Mr Times square.
These posts are stupid...every team tries to recruit one QB for every class. It's not like Tennessee promised JG that they wouldn't recruit a QB in '17...

Yes but did he shy away from OSU due to the competition. Having another guy like Russo come in as a 3-star is expected....having them grab the #1 QB in the next class, hass to make you re-think the yet to be inked decision.
And dont get me wrong, I hope RU would ignore him if he re-opened his recruiting...he is a head case I think.
I wanted JG because of who he might bring with him. Clearly that didn't happen (here or at TN). Russo is the better QB for our system and clearly a good person to boot who is thrilled to be coming here. JG can go look elsewhere if he decommits. RU has moved on and is a lot better for it.
If this kid was in THIS YEAR's class, I could understand how JG would be ticked, but he has to expect that a new QB will be recruited every year. We do the same thing.

Did RU promise Dare he'd be the starter? Did UT promise JG he'd be the starter? I think the answers are different to those two questions..
wow As much as I am happy about Russo (now), I really feel bad for Jarett. We wanted him. Jersey wanted him. He was going to be part of the F.A.M.I.L.Y I doubt he goes there now. Would be crazy hard to compete against a local boy down there. He's still a Yank in their eyes. This is a good lesson for the others. Not saying they shouldn't go their own way, just saying they need to do it with eyes wide open.
If JG decommits, the only reason I would want him at RU is so he doesn't go to some other B1G school. Otherwise, very, very happy with Russo.
He is not local. He's from Indiana folks, not Tennessee. He just started his Junior year. Long way before he signs. Notre Dame was the other team
Do nit want any part of him. I'm extremely happy with Russo. As DilFer says the kid is a flashlight and makes everything brighter around him

JG doesn't want to come to Rutgers.

So glad we have Russo. He is a real QB. JG is an athlete trying to play QB. It isn't a shock he got recruited over before he finished training camp his senior year of high school.

I doubt JG decommits over a recruit coming a year later (perhaps), but if he did and he were interested in RU, we'd take him in a heartbeat and he'd certainly compete for QB with the guys we have and with Russo.
Just been informed that the #1 QB in the 2018 class, Trevor Lawrence, has TN at the top of his list right now. Good luck to JG!

Can't really say that with total certainty, since RU was recruiting both at the same time and Russo not being assured he would be the sole qb......
I understand the thought process of saying no to Jarrett now, but it might not be fact.... Only our beloved coach knows for sure

This might be looking too much into it...but I used to follow JG on Twitter up until about a month ago. I got sick of seeing all the TENN related stuff. Also--his profile was always all about TENN.
For the hell of it, I just decided to check out if he posted anything today and noticed that NEITHER of his pictures are anything TENN or Orange and there is NO MENTION of TENN in his bio. Since I have not followed him in a few months---I am wondering if he removed all the TENN stuff today? lol.
