Big Ten football “expected” to return

Get em while you can:

He said the 10th, so for that reason...

Does Greg want to play this Fall? Haven’t read anything recently from him or Hobbs lately about playing. Gag order in place?

Not playing would be a mistake. They didn’t want us anyway so if we didn’t show they might just say take a hike

Voting no and deciding not to play if the rest of the conference does is not necessarily the same decision. That said, put a fork in Rutgers football if that is the direction they take.
Try a pitchfork for all of Athletics if that’s the case.

This will be a tough one to spin and recover all the way from Old Queens to Rockefeller Road.

Man this is getting good...you know this clown University stooge Holloway isvoting NO... that will decimate the football program... Rutgers will pay off Greg Schiano and staff and then take it to court where they will undoubtedly lose.. If you think they are going to share TV monies you are delusional.

If it passes, I am confident we will be playing.
This was my thought too. Easy to vote no to generally having a season when you aren't close to the tie breaking vote and most of your peers are voting with you. Another thing entirely to vote not to play when 1) the season vote (presumably) flips overall and 2) all your peers opt-in (and no doubt negatively recruit against you based on that fact).

Then again I'm not the one voting.

I agree. I am 100% done with RU Football if the rest of the conference plays and we opt out. We should just fold up the program because no one will ever take us seriously ever again. Could you imagine all the negative recruiting that will occur??

Yes it will impact many non revenue sports and the items these programs require such as facilities... some of the supporters of Holloway better understand the possible and realistic outcomes... If you had a business and some do will you be as free with paying the non workers?...Oh wait ...I forgot about those astute professors at Old Queens who are proponents of everyone gets paid the same, lives the same, are able to choose their field of education, can go to the same schools and universities....you know exactly that is untrue...if Rutgers doesn’t at least make an attempt to play there is more to the story and what is going on behind the scenes.

Said it before...if we opt out we better not be expecting socialism in the form of TV revenue to which we contributed nothing.

love Rutgers, my Rutgers education and my Scarlet Knights but If we sit it out, we deserve all the mocking, ridicule, jokes and $0.00.

Even by Rutgers standards of history athletic futility, this would be too much...

will be interesting to watch...

Agree to play then back out if all these games and travel cause a huge REAL (and meaningful) spike.. not some cherry-picked stat spike

Care to speculate about what is going on behind the scenes?

Are others involved in the upcoming voting decisions or is it just Holloway? Hard for me to believe that RU would make Holloway the sole decision maker here. But I’m not reading that anyone from RU wants to play this Fall. Strangely quiet imo.

I think this is a smart point. Holloway mentioned in the Politi interview that he thought things would get bad by October. They might and they might not. So a vote yes with the agreement allowing teams to cancel based on concrete metrics if things get "bad" seems reasonable to me.

I think one problem is that if a football power makes the wrong call and plays... everyone that backs that power will forgive the U Prez and AD etc. In NJ.. the media will roast Holloway and Hobbs and Schiano and probably take shots at fans.

Define bad? It’s always what they can do not to play. It’s never what they can do to play.

This will all be great by Nov 4, provided a certain outcome happens.

We're in the Big Ten now. They really are trying to be good conference members. I just don't believe Holloway would go against a Yes vote if it passes. It would be a completely irrational act.
Perhaps he wants to look good to his sports-disliking academics...

I don't know how to post tweets but on Sept. 4th Kratch said that whenever the B1G does resume that Rutgers is expected to be part of it. Take it for what it's worth, especially how quickly things change these days, but I'd imagine he has more insight into RU's position than most.

It’s Rutgers. Irrational thrives here.

Voting No and playing are 2 completely separate decisions of which some clown from NJ News 12 can’t figure out. Ignore Farrell who hates everything about Rutgers. He’s a Dick.
Kurt Siegelin from TV 12 is actually very fair and objective.
