big ten second session

174: No. 11 Phil Bakuckas (#RUWR) loses, 7-5, to No. 10 Nathan Jackson (IND) and comes one match shy of an NCAA bid.

197: No. 5 Aaron Studebaker (NEB) defeats No. 12 Hayden Hrymack (#RUWR) by a 6-2 decision. Hryack is eliminated from AQ contention.

team score after first day. No matter how you look at it, this was not a good day for RU. They fought hard in most matches, but came up short every single time. The Theo injury compounded matters. Only AA is still alive on day 2. Only 2 NCAA auto bids so far (AA and AP)...

1. Ohio State 102.5
2. Iowa 101.0
3. Minnesota 86.5
4. Michigan 80.5
5. Illinois 79.0
6. Penn State 78.5
7. Nebraska 70.5
8. Wisconsin 64.5
9. Northwestern 56.5
10. Purdue 33.5
11. Rutgers 18.5
12. Michigan State 12.5
13. Indiana 11.5
14. Maryland 9.5

Delvecchio has already qualified, 12 qualified at 133 and he is wrestling for 9/10 place. Smith needs to win to qualify.

Depends on perspective and expectations. Team score after day 1 is, for me, disappointing, RU was much closer to the bottom than say the middle. But how did wrestlers do compare to their seeds (none of which were very high)?

McCabe-unseeded
Delvecchio- seeded 10
Ashnault-seeded 5
Theobold- seeded 4 [
Perrotti-seeded 8
Vsicario-seeded 11
Backukas-seeded 11
Pafumi-seeded 11
Hrymack- seeded 12
Smith-seeded 8

Some guys are still wrestling and that's a positive. Let's see where they finish .
