Booster comment on Jordan's and fans call for change or no change

The won/loss record isn't opinion or speculation but rather reality. Some fans continue to believe in the if world regarding mens basketball.Decades of futility have turned me off that approach .Ifs and buts don't change the fact that Rutgers lacks the talent to successfully compete in the B1G.

I agree, but, that is not what this post was about. It was about the views expressed on this board and how one camp views their opinions and speculation very highly....other opinions are generally viewed as nonsense.

Right or wrong there are always "ifs" in sports. In football it could be a guy running out of bounds instead of turning up field to get the one yard needed for the first down to allow you to continue a possible game winning drive. That actually happened to Rutgers this past year.

There is not a coach that will come in here and get a 25 year losing program on the fastrack in 3 years. ;I remember the same thing when Rutgers joined the old Big East......"recruiting is going to take off now". NO, it's a slow grind to respectability....the only quick fix is something no one wants to do or see happen to Rutgers.

RU fans again with the soft prejudice of low expectations.

Plenty of alums get fired from their schools- Howland at UCLA off the top of my head.

The reason Flood was fired was in large part because of the size of the football fanbase. RU could not risk the financials and alumni uproar.

At this point with basketball so few people care. Which just goes to show how bad things have gotten.

here we go again with more arrogance......What bac says is fact. What anyone else says is a stupid opinion. God love him, he is NEVER wrong, but those with a different opinion are Always wrong. I saw a post that Freeman went down against Wake in the 2nd. Injuries happen and they always impact a game. Here's another Bacism....when Rutgers has a close games or plays well it's ALWAYS because the other team played poorly......lol

Drop the arrogance...no one likes arrogance .

yes, both Rutgers and Illinois were hurting. That's a valid point. But, I have not checked, were Illinois' injuries concentrated in one area....all big men?

Freeman wasn't doing much against Wake anyway. He had 5 points (2-9) and 4 rebounds in his 25 minutes before he went out with under 6 minutes left. The last basket we recorded in that game was with 7:21 left on a Goode layup. The offense just completely disappeared. Diallo managed 5 fouls in just 10 minutes.

And we should have beaten SJU. Freeman, Laurent, Sanders and Lewis combined for just 17 points. Diallo managed 5 fouls in 14 minutes. And we were still ahead with 1:18 left.

its not about fast track...its everything...program vision and energy..do you think Eddie is tirelessly working like a Chris Ash..thats what we need. Rice was close to this passion. I do not see the passion. Saying that RU is winning the spirit battle is worse that the Floodisms

I do give EJ credit for keeping this team positive and looking forward, given the valley of crap they've walked through this year. He's been asking guys to play out of position, take repeated beatings by opponents that just outmatch and outclass them, and keep coming back for more with a positive attitude. That's impressive. He's sold them on the belief that there is a bright light on the horizon, even if he hasn't sold the fanbase.

Howland not a UCLA alum

well one he never would have been hired. Eddie never got a sniff from any coaching opening and only got this one because of our dire straights and because we were too cheap/shortsighted to go after Howland

but yeah he would have easily been let go if not an alum, I have no doubt on that at all

Good point bac about him never getting hired in the first place.

My sense is the media and the message boards are starting to formulate and make their opinions vocal on Eddie staying or leaving. Politi and the onthebanks articles represent a lot of people's opinions on why Eddie should leave. If Eddie stays, which I think is a mistake, he needs to look at his staff. I have no idea what Mike O'Koren does. He looks like he's in a trance whenever I see him. No idea about the rest of the staff. No recruiting success in NJ is mind boggling.

We have six wins, that is factual.
So is that we've lost 27 Big 10 games in a row.
Maybe we can hang a banner for spirit wins

St.John's game Sanders was 1-6 from the line. howland graduated from Weber State, just looked it up.

27 in a row in conference.....5-34 in last 39 and 0-34 vs rpi 250 are wiped away by the magic wand injury excuse...the Eddie supporters pretend it doesn't exist...if its 5-41 and 0-41 you better believe Hobbs knows it exists

there are polls on Onthebanks and twitter right now. Essientially its about a 50/50 split, Onthebanks running towards canning him, Twitter poll running towards keeping him

its definitely an issue and its not a done deal clear cut in either direction. I firmly believe how this team looks against the bottom division of this team in the next 6 of 7 games is going to determine a lot. Eddie needs wins, not in the spirit column either

The point is clear, it's about how the "Jordan must go" crowd views anyone with a different opinion on THIS message board.

If you read this message board that crowd makes it seem like anyone with a different opinion is stupid, is crazy, is a friend of Jordan, is a shill , etc and......... part of an extremely small minority. In reality, the fan base is split. They think their opinion is 100% correct and everyone else is wrong....that's arrogance. There are two normal posters in this thread that are the most arrogant posters I have ever seen on any message board. They want everyone to know their opinion is the only one that matters, that's why they say the same thing over and over....I will not mention their names.....Back, roman...lol . Greed is Good, Arrogance is NOT good.

No one said it was a ringing endorsement. that was not the reason for the thread.
Do we want to take that poll now? lol. Yuk.

I think there's going to be more than just the W-L record or how the team is progressing towards getting better.
Off court issues will be looked at and now I'm not so sure Jordan will be given another year.

We could get any high school coach to do what he has done in three years (and he probably would know how to attack a 1-3-1 And run rebounding drills too). I'll take my chances with almost anyone at this point. His sample size is way more than enough. We've been through this many times before and we never learn.
