Bosnian point guard visiting

2025 Harun Zarno a 6’6” shooting guard from Bosnia is visiting in January. He is the equivalent of a 5 star. He is also visiting Wisconsin, Indiana, Virginia and Gtech.
Rutgers will also be hosting the number one center from 2026 visiting in January. Dates are not set for either.

Rutgers needs a half court offense that creates open 3 point shots.Hayes is a very good 3 point shooter but the ball movement is lacking .
You 100% correct. The offense is heavy iso.

We definitely can and should work in a 3-point shooter into our offensive game plan. Think about Dylan and Ace’s bread and butter. Dylan drives to the hoop. Ace executes midrange ISO. With a shooter nearby to keep defenses honest, Dylan has more room to drive and Ace can post/re-post, get better positioning and/or kick out, if double teamed. It would allow Dylan and Ace to do what they do best and highlight their strengths.

I would be shocked if any program brought in a player mid season and especially right into the start of conference play, but stranger things have happened already in college sports for 2024.

Bailey and Harper aren't going to out score opponents. In the Seton Hall game the rest of the Rutgers roster scored 21 points which is embarrassing.
Hays is also the 3rd highest attempts per minute behind Harper and Bailey. He’s getting shots

In regard to seton hall rutgers attempted to screen in the first half and seton hall defended that aggressively resulting in turnovers and very poor production. ISO and focus on Bailey and Harper actually won that game for us. It’s best not to focus on one game when trying to understand what’s happening.

See how his PG passes ? Sure, just video clips but ours, recent past and current, don’t do that. How many years of video would we have to look through to find 10 similar clips ? Euro ball is much more cohesive and team oriented.

Completely different game than Pike runs.

Looks like a pure 3 point shooter. 6'6" . Get him.
Not sure - only saw a small sample. Stats show he shoots the 3 somewhere in the 32-36% range. Gets around 3 rebounds per game, not great for 6'6" player, even for a guard. Doesn't seem to get a lot of assists either, and doesn't seem overly athletic. Think of a better shooting and less athletic Caleb M. I think we need to shoot higher.

I watched about half of the highlight video. All spot up shooting from 3. Kind of is similar to Hayes.....only Hayes has a higher shooting percentage from 3.

As RutgersChow mentioned, his 3pt career percentage isn’t necessarily great, but that’s mostly because he didn’t shoot well last year as a 19 yr old and wasn’t a starter for most of the season, averaging 19min per game…

In 10 games so far this season, he’s started in all 10, averages almost 32 min per game, and is shooting 53.5 fg% (54-101) and 46.9 3pt% (23-49). So maybe he’s a better shooter currently than his career stats would indicate.

Edit- Just a few more current stats: Through 10 games this season Sarno is averaging 3.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 stl, 3.3 TO, and is shooting 79.5% FT.

I assume if he visits he’d be looking at where he could play next year…but you never know.

Given where we are with how our transfers have panned out I would love to take a flyer on a euro kid to join in Jan with that open scholly.
