Cade McNamara in Portal

NYC for life after football? Anyhoo, need an OC that will bring identity to what should be called an offense and give an impression we have OL that can block.
In case you haven't noticed and you haven't, NYC could give a rats ass about Rutgers Football. Is there even one substantial NIL deal for any Rutgers player coming from a NYC company. If he wants a job in NYC going to Rutgers for 1 year isn't going to help.

He’ll get immediate playing time wherever he goes.

Greg’s not going to flat out hand another guy than Gavin the job. Huge likelihood Gavin transfers out in that event.

I think some of our fans need to tamper expectations as to the transfers we might get…. Every team in the country, including the big boys, are now vying for transfers. Think of it like recruiting, McNamara would be the equivalent of a 5* recruit. He’s an immediate starter for any one of about 20 P5 schools. I’ll ask again, why would a guy like that come to rurgers when we have no OC, no receivers, no TE and a below average line? Everyone keeps talking like there’s going to be this plethora of talent in the portal to choose from, it’s simply not the case for places like us
I agree 100% it going to be a tall task to get any experienced QB to Rutgers with the uphill battle.

As far as Gavin I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he transfers regardless. I say that for several reasons. The fact that he enrolled early tells me the family likely over estimates his talent. I think they have to be disappointed in his development or lack of development so far. Parents often wrongly blame coaching for that. Gleason was a big attraction for him coming so with him gone I could see him exploring his options. With the coaching change he going to be starting over learning a new system regardless if eh stays or goes.

Can someone explain this theory on Wimsatt that if a portal QB is brought in he will leave? I hear it often on the board. Where does that come from?
It not uncommon and obviously he and his family wants him playing now or else he wouldn't have rushed enrollment. I could see them seeing in bringing in a transfer as a threat to his playing time so they will go else where. With coaching change it makes it easier because regardless if he stays or goes he is starting over again with a new coach and system.

Apparently the family rushed it for the NIL money. So I've been told on here.

Its not uncommon??? Likely more UNcommon because every class of recruits brings in potential candidates to take over any players starting spot at every school in the country.

Temper or tamp down. Not tamper.

Where does investment money go ? Where its hoped-for financial return is high.

From the perspective of recruits, they choose the best investment in their futures.

Why would McNamara or any top hs QB recruit or transfer Qb invest their future in Schiano given his sh*tshow offense and consistent failure with QBs?

Best we get can at this point are low level (non FBS) QB recruits who hopefully outplay their recruiting rating significantly.

It’s the truth.

Preach !

Maybe the sales pitch should be that Rutgers offers more opportunities of leaving school as a legendary sports figure than other programs.

Why would McNamara go through this now as opposed to waiting until the end of the season? To ensure his spot isn't taken by someone else? He's spent 4 years at Michigan, why not see it through and try to get a championship ring? He'd be a legend if McCarthy got hurt and he won them a championship.

Isn’t he hurt and not playing anyway ?
