Got a chance to join about 30 other Cagers visiting practice today to watch the team at work (mostly on defensive sets) and then offer words of encouragement to them at a tough time. Please excuse my not knowing the names of the folks who spoke -- particularly the prayer offered at the start and the comments by the person representing the Cager leadership (now know it was Nancy Foulks) -- but it was a lovely moment of a lot of us giving lots of love to the team members and coaches. At first it seemed a little like the players were wondering who all these old folks were, but by the end it was a love-fest, and almost all of the players went around the room hugging us and thanking us. So glad I went!

How great, we sometimes forget that they are still (kinda) kids and need support when life throws them a curve. The fans need to remember they are not professional players. Glad they got some love today.

Wish we had been able to go but we did convey our feelings to the team long distance. And yes they are just kids who do need encouragement from adults. Some difficult times for these young ladies and anything we can all do to get them through it is important.

RUWBB - see you guys in Indianapolis. Let’s get on a roll.
