MAAC school that beat us, at home 78-54 made the final 25. Finished at 26-1. Only loss was to Vandy. So, they went 18-0 in conference. :Hammer Nails:

won't begrudge Fairfield deserving kudos for the season they had.
Congrats to the the Stags and being ranked #25 in the AP

Unfortunately for them, they largely didn't play anybody and the MAAC isn't strong.

I have a lot of respect for teams, such as Fairfield, and a year or so ago it was Stony Brook IIRC, that can do very well at the level they play at. Marist was another for many years.

WBB is still not as "on a given day" as the men. Only a few of what we would call mid-majors can beat good teams from the Power 5, whereas on the men's side, upsets are ever possible (even if rare).

In other words, it isn't parity yet. Its more parity than 20 years ago, but in spite of some folks arguments, it really has not yet arrived.

26-1 in year 2 at Fairfield. Their coach can recruit and can coach the team. She played at Monmouth so she is familiar with NJ. She won’t last long at Fairfield.

Carly Thibault-DuDonis took over a good program from Joe Frager that went 25-7 his last season as the Stags HC
He retired with a 256-191 record for the 15 years he was Fairfield's WBB HC

Carly Thibault-DuDonis took the reigns last year and Fairfield had a 15-15 record her first year as the Stags HC and her first college HC position coming to the Stags from Minnesota where she was an assistant for 4 years under Lindsay Whalen
But this year she has excelled and proved to be the type of HC that's going to move up the ranks quickly.

She is already very well connected with WNBA. Her dad was a long time coach, and her brother is now as well. Hmm, a name to keep in mind for the future. Maybe not to distant future perhaps.
