pitt grad transfer. 6'7 guard.
2 years of eligibility. Go get him

Fans know the strengths and weaknesses of the Rutgers team and so do rival coaching staffs. When its been so long since a winning season closing the deal with any recruit is a very difficult situation as previous Rutgers head coaches have found out.Pikiell must break the cycle and somehow attract 1-3 players for next season that have some shooting skills .There are plenty of potential recruits out there but nobody knows right now who will play for Rutgers next season. We have huge minutes to offer and he is from Pennsylvania. Pitt only has 4 returners and they only bring back 9 total points. I think he would be at least joining a team with a good chance of being .500 or better which is probably better than what Pitt is looking at. We also have a wonderful coaching staff. It would be nice if he would give us a good look. Gettys loved his time at RU and hopefully another grad transfer will as well.
Why can't he transfer to an ACC school? Grad transfers can't have restrictions because they already graduated.I think it's a very difficult sell to get a kid from a P5 Program that is losing to transfer to another P5 school that is down.
The kid is a good player and cannot transfer to an ACC school but I bet he has a bunch of suitors.

He is NOT wrong. There are absolutely no restrictions on a grad transfer. The school has NO SAY AT ALL.You are wrong, just look a Gus Edwards who transferred from Miami to RU, he was not allowed to transfer to either Sadexcuse or Pitt, Miami imposed those restrictions & it was widely reported in the news media & Gus is a grad transfer.
I believe when the grad transfer rule first started being used there were some conferences(Big 10 included) that said they couldn't transfer inside the conference. I think a Michigan transfer challenged it and the NCAA about it and won therefor making it to where a grad transfer can go anywhere. There is a stipulation about what the grad transfer studies but I'm not sure how that all works. It has to do with their major not having grad classes at the school they are leaving or something weird.

You are correct. I was wrong. You need to do some research before running your mouth.

This was not a humanitarian act. Harbaugh does what is good for Harbaugh and Michigan football. In this case it was a thinning of the herd.Harbough could have blocked Ross Douglas.

You have succinctly summarized Rutgers ongoing dilemma in recruiting. This guy should be the number 1 target. It's a no brainer. A 6'7 guard with length and long arms that can shoot the 3 pointer.
Gotta believe he is going to a NCAA tourney team so our chances are very slim.
Ross is not a difference maker and game changer that would elevate an opponent's prospects enough to concern Harbaugh. He could have blocked the transfer to a conference school and Ross still would have found another home.

Because of the player and circumstances. If the player was a significant talent, or Rutgers was close to being a serious player in the Big Ten, Ross would not have landed at Rutgers. Bottom-line -- Ross's departure freed up a scholarship. The fact is, he treated Ross well.
How does a grad transfer have two years of eligibility? If he is graduating in three, does he sit out a year and then play two or is he immediately eligible and a possible transfer again next year?
Not saying it's impossible, and I like that B Knight has a connection here, but:
Rumored to be Kentucky bound

Bottom line - he was leaving anyway, JH could have been a jerk and blocked him.
I made the initial post just to say that a HC can block a graduate transfer.
