It was Hobbs who hired Kevin Willard from Iona to Seton Hall in 2010. And it was Hobbs who picked Stony Brook’s Steve Pikiell to take over Rutgers’ downtrodden program in 2016.

Though successful at the mid-major level, neither coach was in huge demand when Hobbs offered them jobs. He’s got a good basketball mind, he saw something in them, and he was right.

here comes the rehab piece....one thing I like over the past month is I dont hear anything about Pat Hobbs anymore. Thats how it should be. The AD should not be the face of the program. Seemingly for the last 4 years he was which indicates something is amiss. I am fine with Pat here because Greg will run the show with football and using McConnell. Hobbs will do the rest of the sports and fundraise. Hobbs made a very good hire in Pikiell and Willard also a good hire but lets not forget that Willard and SHU are as shady as they come with their coaching staff and recruiting...so no I dont want Pikiell to be lumped with the type of program that Willard runs...its night and day.

Well, it only took 1. It's OK to give a guy credit for doing a good job, bac. The article said nothing about Pat being he face of the program. Just recognizing he had good hires in hoops at 2 schools. That's all. Agree it would be best for Pat to let Greg and Kevin drive the football bus.

I did but i dont care about SHU and their shady program. Pikiell is not like Willard and Rutgers isnt like Seton Hall and what they do.
