As much as us fans did. Based on the responses and tweets (or lack there of), doesn’t seem like they might have been the biggest EO fans. Did any player post a “I’ll miss you brother” Instagram or tweet? Now Shaq is dogging him with that response to his video.

If they really didn’t like him all that much, maybe it helps the teams cohesion even more on the court.

When this team gets the media attention hype and they make all the videos that we will go back and watch years from now like the 2006 football season, i want to know the players loved each other like family and be happy to see all those guys who will be RU proud. And I’m convinced that’s what we have now.

We don't know the full story yet. I thought after seeing 14 practices this season that they all were very close knit. I didn't once see any signs that guys didn't like Eugene. He was our leader.

Since players are lost to injury all the time, my guess is that they just treat this as a season ending thing and move on.
Losing a captain that way has to still be mystifying to some.

I think many of the players are still stunned and don’t really know how to respond? Seems like he blindsided everyone with the exception of his girlfriend, a few close friends who liked and commented on his post right away and the providence kid who said something like great things are coming or whatever he said.

Just a strange thing for a Captain to do in his senior year. I loved gene up until this week.

Is Shaq hinting that the video isn’t recent? Not gonna lie, I thought the same thing. Celebs do this all the time, thinking that posting a video is proof of something. I mean why does he need you to see that he’s healthy now if he’s going to sit a year? It’s not like other programs won’t know he’ll need to sit a year anyway.
