RU's next opponent plays this afternoon: Miami vs Florida, 4:30 on ESPN2 in the third place game of the tournament in Orlando.
They are likely going to lose and will come into our game on a 2 game losing streak. Which probably isn't a good thing but nothing we can do about it.RU's next opponent plays this afternoon: Miami vs Florida, 4:30 on ESPN2 in the third place game of the tournament in Orlando.
What we can do is leave them with a 3 game losing streak on Wednesday night. They are likely going to lose and will come into our game on a 2 game losing streak. Which probably isn't a good thing but nothing we can do about it.
Saw them against Stanford. Miami is athletic and fast. They can play strong defense. While we have been playing well, Miami realistically a notch or two above us. Will be a good measuring stick of how much more we will have to do before conference play starts for have a good shot for NIT.RU's next opponent plays this afternoon: Miami vs Florida, 4:30 on ESPN2 in the third place game of the tournament in Orlando.
Think we have a shot though.
Seth Greenberg just tweeted out that Miami has no inside game. That sounds good for me and our chances especially if we crash the offensive glass and get put backs. If guards can play their guards to a standstill we have a very good chance. Weird stat but they only hit 3 threes and only took 14 which I hope continues!! Again it appears this game will be decided by who attacks the glass.Don't like playing a Jim Larranga coached team with a 2 game losing streak......
Against better competition RU will live or die by how well we shoot the ball on a given night. If you shoot poorly against a good team your defense will not be able to keep you in the game it will just delay the inevitable.
15 point dogs?? Do people really think that? I'm going to say somewhere between 8-10 point dogs. 15 is super high
I had the same thought about the spread being around 10. Rutgers has been covering the spread all year15 point dogs?? Do people really think that? I'm going to say somewhere between 8-10 point dogs. 15 is super high
I think around 8-10 will get even money on both sides.basketball spreads are odd as you do not get the same amount of action as you do in football. Remember spreads are based on getting even action on both sides for book making - not what Vegas actually thinks what will happen (kind of works like polling). Just a guess but it may be around five.
I never understood this school of thought. At the very least, it doesn't hurt RU. It's a good thing for instilling self doubt, loss of confidence, and anxiousness. Losing is upsetting and never helps you focus. They are likely going to lose and will come into our game on a 2 game losing streak. Which probably isn't a good thing but nothing we can do about it.

It can go either way, all depends on the mentality of a team. Can also depend on how the game goes, getting up early on a team lacking confidence can make them wilt.I never understood this school of thought. At the very least, it doesn't hurt RU. It looks like they pretty much play just 6 guys with a few others getting a couple of minutes at times. Foul problems and fatigue may be something that they will have to worry more about. We have to rebound and stay out of foul trouble.
Maybe they won't shoot well, but we will make enough to win.Don't like playing a Jim Larranga coached team with a 2 game losing streak......
What do we have to lose?
More like we can throw more bodies out there than Miami. They pretty much only play 6 guys. They have to be tired by the last 5 or 6 minutes. We are a well conditioned team that outlasts opponents in the second half of games!
Half time scores against teams in the 250 and up region. There is a reason they will be 15 point favorites.
