Some great plays by RU, but way too many mistakes and horrible defense = a loss. Oh yeah and a big effing FU to the refs for taking 2 TDs away on very questionable calls - did WSU get called for holding once?

hard to see a W vs Michigan, PSU flip is a hope, otherwise about as fun as 14
Yeah, with a Michigan or PSU win, this is a 4-8 season, and I don't see either happening, especially with CL as QB.

The officials were biased and were the biggest reason for the loss.

The penalty on Goodwin was a joke, the WSU WRs were doing the same darn thing all frickin game and not one flag.

An absolute joke from the officials, WSU should give them the game ball.

Don't get me started on that horrific defense either, the DL is undersized and SOFT

PAC 12 Officials I assume? Being at the game, it is difficult to tell whether the calls were legitimate. I understand the offensive pass interference call looked questionable on the replay. Either way we had too many non controversial penalties to blame this one on anybody but ourselves. We knew we needed to score points to win this one and I actually felt we were fortunate to be only down 7 at half. Totally different game in the second half. They made one more play. WSU is not a good team but light years better than Norfolk State.

The pass interference call seemed pretty bogus. I would like to see it again but - the defender and Goodwin were locked up a significant distance from where the ball was passed to Grant. The holding call on the Hick's TD was difficult to tell from the TV angle. Did not seem like our guy (Denman?) extended his arms on the block - but not sure. Perhaps they called it because he held the block after Hicks was already gone through the hole. The interesting thing is the relative lack of calls against WSU compared to RU considering the catastrophic impact that the calls against RU had. Very Telling.

As for the Board Meltdown. More and more I find myself staying away after a game. I want to discuss football - and not come here to actually feel worse than I already do after a loss. It is difficult with all the drama.

Except for a few "Fire Rossi tonight" threads I think there is mostly level headed discussion. The coaches, especially the DC need to stop coaching from a position of fear. I think that is what most people would like to see and for the most part don't see the sky as falling.

As an example compared to the PSU board this week and especially last week things here are downright cordial.

a couple of legit holding calls on WSU and/or a defender making an actual catch on 1 of the three changes to intercept the ball and we win this game. (with that thing we call a defense)

Agree 100%. No pressure on WSU's QB all day.

Beating Michigan? The Flood and Rossi show against a guy that almost won the Super Bowl?

Army is going to score on us at will, they will throw the ball more than ever and set all kinds of records, nevermind anyone else.

Army scoring at will? I think you picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue.

Hard to blame coach when it was basic stuff, cannot do much without a pulse
How about blitzing some more. Falk's biggest knocks coming in was he is indecisive and holds the ball to long. We saw both in this game as he held the ball for 5 to 6 seconds a lot with no rush. Problem was Rossi decided not to attack these areas and play cover 2, 4 man rush playing right into the offenses hands. We blitzed 6 times in 66 passes. Result 5 incompletions/ 1 complete. We didn't get to him but sped up his internal clock. Those same knocks on him coming in resurfaced. Rossi is Cohen part II with this game plan he did nothing to mask his green secondary instead his defense facilitated their offense.

Please, please stop with the officials bashing. We drop to this level after every loss. We need to find something newer and fresher to complain about: how about lack of talent?
