He finished 2nd in the NJ meet of champs in the discus throwing 179, first place was 183. As usual there was some insane performances at the NJ state meet. Like most sports we have some of the best in the country. A few that stand out to me

800 winner Rey Rivera from Old Bridge runs 1:50 and he is only a sophomore
1600 winner Drake Anzano from CBA runs 4:11 and he is also only a sophomore
Taylor Mclaughlin runs 51.93 over the 400 hurdles, he is heading to Michigan next year. His sister Sydney who is a sophomore won the same event in 57.39, she is #1 in the USA at this event. Their dad was a great 400 meter runner at Manhattan College back in the 80's.

Congrats Nick on your two 2nd place finishes at NJ MOCs!!!!

The kid who won the javelin, Ryan Gebhardt from Wallkill Valley, did so on the very last throw of competition. I thought that was pretty crazy. It was also his personal best and his school record.

For anyone who is remotely interested in track and field I highly suggest going to watch this meet at some point in your life. Great atmosphere and some national class performers and performances. There are college coaches from all over the US at this meet as well.
