Cuonzo Martin steps down

Looks like it's official for Cuonzo. His first move was hiring the assistant Michael Porter Sr. whose son is the #1(2017) player in the country. Cuonzo turned Illinois down who offered $18mil, but I don't know how many years it was for.

Surprised its Mizzou over Illinois. Illinois has way more recruiting potential for a bagman like Cuonzo Martin, while Mizzou was just sanctioned and won 5 games. But Illinois still playing in the NIT with an interim so Missouri might have the jump.

Just want to drop in to say that our AD publicly stated there is zero truth to that rumor and that we haven't offered the job to anyone. Sorry, I know I'm a homer, but there were already a lot of rumors that we took a hard pass on Cuonzo, and he made it very clear in 2012 that he wanted to be considered.

Not buying that he picked MU over us for one second.

Seven year deal-------they don't grow on trees at high major conferences.

Tony Bennet of Virginia is rumored to be taking the Illinois job. That would be a home run hire for them if true. Probably won't know until Virginia is out of the tourney.
