Cuse Attackman Dordevic In Portal

Would love to add Dordevic to the offense but, will he come when he could go to Maryland and slide right into the lineup. From what I was told all of our long poles have the ability to come back and there is only one that may decide to leave. Rall and Russo have already stated that they were coming back and I believe Boswell is an underclassman and we already have a transfer coming in from Dartmouth as a pole. on offense of the top 6 only Bartolo I believe is done, I think all the rest can come back. I believe that Sango has completed his eligibility, but I believe that Civetti can come back as well as Teresky and Aimone I think it is at the SSDM spot where we may see some losses, as I think 3 of the 4 have used up all of the eligibility, but @Golfer2019 could probably answer that better.

If there is mutual interest, absolutely. He was one of their few bright spots. Team captain, seems like a good kid. From Oregon, perhaps there is a connection to Ross Scott. We presumably lose Bartolo and Cameron next year so we can use help at attack.

Would LOVE to get his kid. He would fit in perfectly with our style. Sure Brian is going after him. He’s also from Oregon like Ross.

I am sure he will have plenty of options, but if I’m a senior transfer with no local school connections (nearest D1 program to OR is Utah) I am looking at Rutgers or Maryland. Both run systems that showcase athletes and both have proven that transfers can step right in and thrive.

That would be the equivalent of getting Kirst in 2021. And if Rizzotti really is coming in as a grad transfer RU is getting a player who can play a solid close D and would be a Top 15 LSM in D1. With Rall coming back that's an embarrassment of riches. I actually wonder about the fit.

Dordevic would fit in perfectly in our system. No question we are going after him.

FYI, he had 47 goals and 12 assists in 14 games for Cuse this year. Objectively, this would be a home run get, to replace Mitch Bartolo. But one wonders if the young attack guys will stick around.

You hate to say it, but college sports are a year to year thing now. At least for the foreseeable future.

This kid has generational talent. You take him if you can get him. It's that simple.

We have some recruits that are coming in that have high expectations. If you lose one or two guys on the team currently, it would suck and you never want to lose them, but this is the way of the world now. You are either playing this game or you are falling behind. It's that simple.

This kid will be a tough get though. He can go to any school in the country not in the Ivy league.

I think with the extra covid year it's on steroids for the next 2 years, and after that will abate to a degree.

Cameron is back fyi
Thanks, good to know. Hard to keep track these days.

I would think Kulas would be in line to step in at Bartolo’s spot. But obviously if we were to land Dordevic he and Scott would lock down 2 spots and Cameron and Kulas would battle it out for the third spot. I’m guessing Aimone and Teresky will settle in at middie.

Kulas is more of a finisher type from what I understand. I know the guys think highly of him. I’d keep Aimome and Teresky at middie at this point. They are settled in.

Kamish, Coyne, and Franko are done. This is it for those three. Daninger has another year I believe. Not sure if he’s using it.

Gally is done, Sango is done.

I don't like to break stories on guys when they haven't done so publicly so I'll let Daninger do so himself.

Great that we have Rall coming back and a year older Reynolds. That kid will be an All American before he is done.

Part of being a fan of college sports is watching guys come in and mature. We have seen that with our D Mids. Tommy Coyne was an unsure freshman attackman who was thrust into the starting line up due to injury. He's morphed into a very productive D middie.

Francko was always a stud d mid. Kid made the All B1G tourney team as a freshman.

Bren came in as an offensive middie and has transformed himself into one of the best short stick D mids in the country. Going to be a little sad to not see these guys out there next year. They've done so much for the program and I just love watching them play. Hopefully we get a handful more opportunities to do so.

They’ve got a sophomore named Drago at Cuse who barely saw the field this year.
He’s from North Caldwell and went to West Essex High School.
I know his parents, he’s not happy

He is a pole and he would be a great get so would the cause fogo who is also in the portal Savage is his name, he was originally committed to us but then switched to Cuse I was very disappointed when that happened and would be excited to get him back. There is also a freshman that I would take his name is Blake Borges, his dad played at Rutgers around the same time as me, @Caliknight and @rbled.

Are you sure, I thought that I had heard he had two years to play?
He does have another year but at last check it wasn’t being used.

Of course, things are always fluid. Trust me, if he came back, and a healthy Sprock, it would be incredible for us.

Picking up Borge’s and Drago would be huge on a number of levels.

Not sure how much you can say Zap but why isn’t he happy? Just playing time or something else? Cuse program seems like a train wreck right now.

In your day the only remedy to increase your playing time would be to work your ass off in practice, impress the coaches with your work ethic and take advantage of the playing time you get.
What else could you do?
If you lacked the talent to do so, you became a respected member of the team and valuable to the program by helping prepare the guys who do play.
In today’s world, you simply enter the portal

Or you could accept the loss of a year and transfer. Rarely done but it did happen.

It's the special kids today that get that being a positive member of the team makes them very valuable and respected.

We are fortunate to have a number of them in our program. One kid specifically is Dom Carter.

That guy sees very little live action, but every time I watch them practice that kid stands out. He gets after it hard and physical. You could have 50 kids like that and win a lot of games. In fact, I think we do.

You need to DM me quickly.
I have direct contact with Drago’s parents.
They need to know the kid is wanted and we’re willing to give him a scholarship.
I need you to find out through your connections if we really want this kid, not that he would just help us.
What can I tell his parents?
I’m hearing the RU coaches were pissed off he went to Cuse and there’s some animosity there.

One thing has never been more evident. Jersey kids better jump on board when they have the chance. There is a great thing going on at RU.

Won’t say the kids name but a kid at another BIG school was going to come here and flipped, played a little as a freshman and now rides the pine. He wanted to come back here but no room at the inn.

It’s a fine line. If you were committed and then flipped elsewhere, chances of you coming back to said school are slim...why? It works both ways...You leave a staff high n dry, they’re not gonna beg you to come back...you should come back and plead for a spot...

Coaches know who they want and what kids screwed them in the recruiting process.

Getting a spot on this Rutgers roster is a privilege at this point

BB will get the transfers he wants. I can see Maryland and Gtown being very desirable spots...But RU is right there as well

If he was committed to RU and flipped on that commitment it would absolutely cause animosity. In all these types of cases...

Makes these types of situations very sensitive.

And you better realize that for the next few years the portal is crowded with Ivy transfers, and good ones. Think what Penn would have been this year with Bartolo and Lully (starting A at Penn and currently #4 scorer at Duke). Of course Sowers last year. And it sounds like Rutgers gets another one next year. Given a quality combination of lacrosse program and grad academic programs I think Rutgers, Georgetown and Duke (Fuqua MBA) are all near the top. One school with a slightly lesser lax cache but solid grad programs that cover the spectrum of possibilities is Boston University. Be interesting to see if that attracts players from the New England Ivies given they might make the tournament this year.

I’m pretty sure the Patriot does not allow grad transfers. As a matter of fact I’m sure they don’t. So no 1 year grads can go to the PL

Otherwise I agree with everything you said here.

RU is desirable for transfers.

Agreed with all. You can have grads in the PL but they can’t be transfers. They have to already be at that school.

We don’t know what will happen with Drago but it’s something to watch. Schools like Syracuse have a name but the grass isn’t always greener. When you give up that spot, someone else is taking it.

We have Rall for another year and a freshman stud in Remi Reynolds who is already playing. While you always want to plan for to d future, our long pole situation isn’t bad.

That said, Inhope things work out for Drago. He was coveted in high school so you’d have to think there is something there.

Thanks. Did not know that. But Sissleberger is still in play. A question you are uniquely qualified to answer is does RU want to deal with his father 😉

They’ve dealt with some overbearing parents before. It’s part of the job.

Sissleberger could stay at Lehigh but you’d have to believe he’d want to go to a different team if he were to stay in college.
