DAMNING MENTION ABOUT FLOOD!

To be clear on this, I am not a flood loyalist. I am a die hard RU loyalist who has supported every coach since John Stegman. I fully support coach Ash and want him to succeed in the worst way. Will he screw up along the way from time to time, probably. You will not see me calling him out. Eventually, like all coaches, he will be fired. When that happens, I will thank him for his efforts.
No?? Didn't you say above that he was a good and honest man?? You are the President/CEO of his fan club if you still believe that.

Some of the comments about Flood are a disgrace. He is a good football coach who won and got us to bowl games. He is a very good evaluator of talent and put together some solid recruiting classes. His 2016 class was one of the better classes we've seen in the past 10 years. He is respected by high school coaches and his fellow college coaches. The man gave it his all to make RU a better program. he lost his job because of a few knuckleheads. he is a good, honest guy who failed at a very difficult job. I for one thank him for giving it his all. he deserves better than the crap I see on this board.

A good honest guy that verbally attacked my wife to the point that GS had to come running in and berate him in front of 1/2 the Hale Center.
What a swell guy.

Right, Ash and company are going to be honest Abe's. Give me a break. They told one kids outright where he stood.

What do you think Ash and company are telling the 200 juniors and sophomores right now? "178 get lost and 22 of you have offers." Now Ash and company waits for next two years?

Seriously. Tell us Kenny, what is Ash and company telling the hundreds of kids they are talking to?

(Democracy's greatest weakness: every single person gets a vote)
You obviously were never recruited as an athlete. Of course coaches play games with recruits they are going to keep the interest of every athlete they are recruiting. All the athletes that we are recruiting know we only have a certain amount of scholarships. With that being said when I was being recruited for baseball and I was meeting with coaches I had a handful of coaches telling me what they thought about my game and how I would fit into the team and how they see me helping the team down the road. I also had coaches playing games showing interest then backing off then not hearing from them, then they would tell me how great I was and then I wouldn't hear from them for another two to three weeks. As an athlete I always liked it when the coaches were up front with me and told me that they wanted me to be a part of the program but they weren't going to wait around for my decision. That is what I believe this staff will be doing being up front and honest telling the kids that we are recruiting the plan for them how they fit but make it known that they wont be playing any games with them.

Its because Ash is recruiting second rate talent. Can't wait for the Buffalo and ODU commits to flip. Yawn....

You might want to take a look at the offer lists of the most kids Flood recruited, in his 3 classes, when he had plenty of time to recruit. We're talking years.

This guy has been on the job not even 2 months, coming off a 4-8 season, and you're expecting miracles? Lol!!!

Actually he had offers from FCS schools (1AA), not D2 schools, and many - WAY TOO MANY - of Flood's former recruits had more, or as many, FCS offers than FBS/P5 offers. Let's not forget about this fact.

Have to say I am leaning this way. Pair this with how this generation of selfie enthusiasts are all told they are special and expect to be treated as such and you can expect to see a lot of such comments.

In the past we used to get this from high school coaches who wanted their 2nd tier players to get Rutgers schollies while they wanted their best to go to "name" programs. Now with all the social media and the old media acting like social media we can expect to hear from a lot of recruits we have "dissed". And if they every represent a school playing against us, expect at least of coverage of them in the S-L.

Wait.. what?

I posted on the RT...

So, I've been asked by numerous people why I had such a STRONG dislike for Flood. I said whenever he got fired, I'd tell the story. I was going to let it go, but I've had requests on the board and PM's about it. I'll keep it quick for everyone.

So, my wife worked in the AD on the academic side several years ago. When working with the students one day, a certain unnamed OL skipped the session. That was a big no-no under GS. She wasn't going to say anything, but a GA came in and sat in the class. She had to report it.
Flood caught wind and chased her down. He started yelling at her and called her the b-word. A GA ran to get GS. He had to get involved and made Flood apologize to her. I disliked the man from that day on. This is going back to when he was just the OL coach.

Blasphemy! So, you're saying Flood and the way he viewed academics have been questionable way back then when he was only an OL coach? Take it back!!! This was a man of ultra high integrity!!!

The problem is the Floodies won't let the sleeping dogs lie.
They go down on the sinking KF ship and continue to scold the rest of this board. I'm more than willing to turn the page. But I'm tired of the people who defended him to the bitter end and called everyone else negative. And continue to this day. We were right. They were wrong. Shut up, admit it and stop supporting a loser and a bad era of Rutgers football.
The "Floodies" didn't post this thread on the board.

I guess Schiano must be a Floodie because as I recall he said Flood was the greatest teacher Schiano was ever around.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It's a shame the new staff didn't treat this jackass like the old staff. Maybe the old staff knew he had no morals.

Bingo, kid has abig mouth and bigger ego, one thing to come in commit/decommit, but he trashed coaches in the brief time he was here then bolts....someone needs to put a filter on him.

This specific situation seems like piling on. We are criticizing Flood for slow playing someone who has no FBS offers until the last week. He did a lot wrong but this doesn't seem like one of them. If he had given him an offer way back when, we would have had a 3 page thread on how clueless he was for doing that. He is gone. Let's move on.
