Don't remember seeing him on field. Seems like he misses games for undisclosed reasons. Hurt, "hurt", attitude, etc? Reminds me of Clowney - immensely talented but something's missing at times.

Don't like his antics, but I think he's the best HS football player to come out of NJ since Jack Tatum left Passaic HS in the mid 60s.

The best that I played against and had the pleasure of tackling while he was returning one of my punts was Gil Chapman from Elizabeth HS (1970). He started as a freshmen and led the state in scoring his last 3 years (iirc) and held the all time state scoring record for several years afterwards, all while wearing Hi Top Shoes! He went on to play for Michigan. I recall seeing an issue of Sporting News with a full page action picture of him with the title "Is He the Most Dangerous Kick Returner in College Football".

Congrats to you if you tackled him in the open field, not many did. Chapman officially played for Thomas Jefferson HS which was Elizabeth's all male HS at the time. I saw him (and teammate Ritchie "Batman" Woods- USC /Jets) play many times. They had an incredible team.
